How many pet owners are thinking of taking their pets to the vet or buying something at the pet store for fleas and ticks this summer? I do it every year so they don't have to put up with that problem.

Our dogs growing up had fleas once, but they also spent a lot of time in obedience trials and fields, amongst an assortment of dogs and long grass.
We don't treat our guys now, as they have super short hair and minimal exposure to other dogs and long grass where fleas and ticks tend to hide.

its never a bad idea if you have outside pets.

My cats are indoor cats, so I don't have to worry about fleas. We did visit a family cottage once and they had dogs with fleas there at some point, which they didn't mention to us. Our cats got fleas and had to be treated. Poor things.

My cats are indoor but I take them out on our porch in the summer. As we also ha e squirrels running all over the porch I get them flea meds at the vet when they go for their checkup.
