Target Liquidation sales,hard to believe on Feb 04, 2015 @ 06:43 pm

I personally don't think that Target is going to put on any big sales until about the last week before they go.When Zellers closed down here, they done the same thing. These companies have to make their money first,it may sound like a deal but,I bet it won't be.I'm thinking this way because on the news they said that Target owed hundreds and thousands of dollars to different companies here in Newfoundland and maybe other places to . I wouldn't doubt other provinces, where they are located as well.I heard that they were charging too much money here for their goods, more than what they were charging in the states for the same product.

I didn't know that Target was putting anything on liquidation. Are they going out of business in a certain area? Thanks.

Yup on Feb 04, 2015 @ 09:59 pm

Yes, and that area is Canada.

I'll be surprised if they have really good prices right away. If we're lucky they might cut prices to equal American ones.

I agree with you ladies. I wont be wasting my time either. Shelves are already almost empty and im sure there will be few discounts here and there that wont be worth all the time and crowds involved in action :/

30% on Feb 05, 2015 @ 12:00 pm

I heard 30% discounts on the radio this morning. Not sure if there will be exclusions or if some items will already be removed from the shelves.

"Up to 30%" on Feb 05, 2015 @ 12:54 pm

I just saw a "Canadians are disappointed" story on CTV - looks like the sales are "up to 30% off" but are mostly around 10%. Not worth the effort to get out to the store!

I was there on Wed... on Feb 06, 2015 @ 12:51 am

The store was 3/4 full of regular things including Valentines Day goods. I didn't see anything too special or eye-catching that made me want to come back for the "big sale". It was another day at Target. It didn't seem like there was much great stuff that they were offering. The prices were average. It doesn't surprise me that they wasn't a huge sale going on despite them closing the stores soon. I heard that Zellers might make a comeback. I hope so. Then it won't be just Walmart or Giant Tiger. Target didn't make me go "Wow!" and the fact that they couldn't survive 2 years is sad.

I checked out the Target in my area last night and everything ranged from 10 to 30% off. Most of the items I bought were only in the 10 to 20% off range, and I ended up saving about $10 from my purchase.

It was nice getting things on sale but in the end I don't think it was that much of a deal because Target's prices are higher to begin with.

I'll be sad to see Target go, and take my beloved Starbucks with it, but I feel like Target should have stepped their game up and made the Canadian stores on par with the US ones.
