A few things on Oct 10, 2014 @ 08:52 am

Mt husband wanted a turkey this year, but for some reason I just can't cook turkeys!! I've tried and tried and something always goes wrong. So I told him if he wanted one he'd have to cook it. I got out of that job this year. LOL

My boys and I really don't care for turkey, so I'm cooking a ham for us along with home made candied sweet potatoes, cheese covered broccoli, mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, home baked buns and home made apple pie.

I might toss in a few other things depending on how I feel that day, or I might just sit back and watch my guys do all the cooking for me for a change. I'm thinking the later sounds the like the best idea, don't you?? ;) LOL

We have Thanksgiving at my inlaws, so my mother in law does most of the cooking. I'm required to bring my Pumpkin Pie Bites and this year I'm also bringing Apple Fritter Bites.

I only make cherry pie when Cherries are in season- canned are gross. Ham is always preferred in my family to Turkey.

Traditional on Oct 11, 2014 @ 10:57 pm

This year I decided to poll my husband and my family to see if they would like to have something different for Thanksgiving dinner like ham and scallop's or seafood. To my surprise everyone wanted the tradition turkey dinner and said they looked forwards to it every year at my home.

Therefore dinner will consist of Turkey, stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes, gravy, butternut squash, corn on the cob, assorted home made pickles, salad, dinner rolls, raw veg tray. Best of all guests will be bringing an assortment of desserts.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!
