What do you do to cheer yourself up?

Spa days? Massage? Retail Therapy? What do you ladies do to cheer yourself up when you need a pick me up? I have been known to go get a haircut when I just need a change or a massage when I need to relax. Any ideas that are tried tested and true for you ladies?

EAT. I know, it totally sounds like bingeing, but no, I don't mean eat in that sense. Many times when we're feeling down or anxious, it is because our blood sugar is low. Feeling sad or anxious is our bodies way of telling us that we need energy.. and a snack can help you relax. Usually I will reach for complex carbs (whole grains - pasta, bread) or fruit (quick energy source).

Another one is a small serving of ice cream or chocolate, (not too much because it will make feel guilt after lol). Chocolate has a mood elevating effect.

Another thing I do is get some exercise. it gives you endorphines and makes you happy :)

Oh and yoga. It makes you feel good.

I find that the working out stuff gets the endorphins going! I find a lot of times people feel tired and bummy cause they are dehydrated too...so drink lots of water! What about beauty stuff? What beauty stuff do you do to make yourself feel better?

If I'm feeling down I'll get a manicure and pedicure.
It's so relaxing, especially when they massage your hands and feet, and they feel so soft and look so pretty after.

I find Pedicures very relaxing. Manicures are too but they never last on me for long because of work! I just can't justify Pedicures in the winter, I am on a budget and no one gets to see it (other than me when I am home and some people in my Flirty Girl Fitness classes).

Yes, I find that they can be costly. If you ever have time, you can do it yourself! Just don't cut off your cuticles. They are there to prevent infection in your nails!

...is never good if you don't have the cash to spend to begin with. Tea and a good book and some down time is not a bad way to relax as well.... :o)

I know this sounds corny but I don't have any family in the city so when I'm down I pick up the phone and call my Mom or one of my sisters or another family member I know will cheer me up. I also agree with the manicure and book ideas. I soothe with chocolate far too often so for me that's a dangerous one ;)

Yes calling family and friends always helps...mine are just on the other end of the country so it can end up being costly!
