X'mas is probably the biggest gift giving holiday (sad, but true). So I'm wondering what kind of shopper are you gals?
- All shopping done before Dec
- Started in Dec and almost finished
- Spend the next weekend (right before X'mas) to do one-stop shopping at the mall
- Dec 24th madness kinda person
Me? I shop all year around. Hahah...whenever I see something I really like at the mall and can think of a perfect person to give you, I'll pick it up. I try not to buy anything before Sept because I know come Dec, I'll forget what I bought. I'm mostly done now, just need to wrap all the presents and see if I'm missing anything. I never shop on Dec. 24th. I'll go walk around the mall and enjoy the festivity but never buy anything.

I'm a last minute girl. I do charity swaps with a lot of people on my list where we'll donate on behalf of each other to certain charities, which doesn't require setting a toe in the mall, but for my nieces and nephews it can be pretty down to the wire. Partly because I hate Christmas shopping due to the insanity, the crowds, the mentality of everyone rushing out to buy each other things we don't necessarily need when we have so much already (compared to those in other parts of the world), and then there is the issue of there are always so many amazing sales it's hard not to get caught up in buying one for them, one for me.... so, yep, your system definitely beats mine!

i just go shopping for myself and on the way find preasents for others! but i usually forget people so this year i made a note which says who i need to get preasents for, and when i forget somewone i make last minute shopping!

My mom and I used to have a box where we keep all the gifts we've collected for other people just so we don't lose/forget about them when the time comes. This box is for presents of all occasions (wedding, b-day, x'mas, etc). We found that was the best way since we often buy things during boxing week sales. :)
I think MC has the right idea about giving gifts though; donation is a wonderful way to honour the spirit of X'mas. But I love giving gifts and I love receiving them. So, I try to buy people useful gifts or things I know they want but don't want to spend the $$ on. For example, I asked my Hubby for a new baby carrier for X'mas. I was going to buy it anyway b/c I need it. And I'm going to buy Hubby a pair of winter boots (he lives in Ottawa and he doesn't own a pair!!). Not much of a surprise but at least we are not wasting money. And I bought my mom an electric tooth brush. I know she wants one b/c she is always asking me about mine but she would never spend $80 on a toothbrush. Skincare products are usaully my backup plan for my mom since I know what she likes (huge Shiseido fan!) and I know she will never let that stuff go to waste. :)
