I'm almost 40 and lately I have been experiencing very bad PMS. I am taking 10-12 days before my cycle starts. I get cramps and bloating to the point that I can't breathe. Once my period comes they ease up. I have had tests done to see if there is anything wrong but nothing came out of them. I swear I get one good week out of the month without any pain. Is anyone experiencing that too and what are you doing to ease it. It May have something to do with my age but I just don't know

I had the same issue. I went to a naturopathic doctor, followed his treatment and was cured.

I have always had extremely painful period cramps, starting from the very first period I ever got and onwards. My doctor tried me on every pain med that she could think of that wasn't a narcotic, and nothing worked. If anything, some of them actually made the pain worse because they were so hard on my stomach that I would throw up. I find the only thing that has helped was being put on birth control. I know that's not an option for all women, since some don't react well with them or you just straight up don't want to be on them, but it's certainly an idea to consider. I've been on a few different types and some work better for cramps than others, that's for sure. And the other thing is, you can take the birth control consistently and make it so you don't GET a period, bar maybe a couple times a year if you want. I know people who do that, with their doctor's approval, and they never have to worry about cramping and periods. Of course, obviously these are just suggestions and your doctor knows best :) Hope it helps!

I am considering on going on the pill. I'm just a bit afraid because of my age but if it helps with the pain than I will take it.
