I know it's very important to get our 8 hours of sleep and I'm always worrying about it specially cause I have a bad habit I'm having a hard time breaking...& that is that I get glued on to the computer when I know that it's very important and we should turn it off an hour before going to bed to help our bodies relax to hit the Zzzz...Any help with that anyone?

Usually it's the weekends I go to sleep late. Does it matter going to sleep early to get our 8 Zzzz's.....or as long as we still get them even when we stay up longer....?

What are your bedtime routines...any bad habits to confess...?

I sometimes have a hard time getting to bed early, it really depends on how much energy I have used up in the day. I love getting 8-9hrs of sleep, but sometimes I need to tire myself out a bit before bed. I always end up on my computer right until bedtime no matter what lol I still do get all the sleep I need and if I know I need to go to bed early for a certain day in the week.

I have a very random work schedule but I get it well in advance. I make sure I break my late night computer habit a few days before I know I need to be up early. The one thing that I find works to do so is pull an all-nighter, and then stay up the whole day and go for walks, or any type of exercise that I know will tire me out. The only hard part is to stay up the whole day until about 10:30pm-11:00pm. Then I'm out like a light and I'm all set for the early morning.

I don't think it would matter if you are sleeping from 2am-10am or 11pm-7am, as long as you are getting enough sleep for your body. You run into trouble on the weekends when you start messing with your routine. If you are sleeping in too late on Saturday and Sunday mornings, it will be difficult to go to bed early on Sunday night.

Jovanna, It seems like you already know the best thing to do is to turn off the computer earlier. I'm guilty of getting hooked online and losing track of time as well! Maybe start by winding down and shutting off electronics half an hour before bed and see where that gets you!

off at dinnertime. Dont like having it on when Hubby is home unless he wants to check something - which is rare as hes not into computers. After dinner and getting our son to bed we usually watch a DVD or TV and are in bed by 10pm at the latest. I dont need to get up until 7 am with my son ( for school ) so I can usually get 8-9 hours in.

But for the ladies that are at work all day I can see how getting your computer time can cut into sleep - I'm lucky to be a Sahm with flexibility.

I have slight insomnia and so I cannot fall asleep quickly like most people. And so, I always have a book at hand to make me sleepy and fall asleep.

And bad habits...I don't sleep until, I don't know, 1am to 3am. I know, so bad.

I always have a book or at least a magazine beside my bed in case I can't sleep. It always helps.
