I just purchased myself a Clairsonic MIA yesterday and... well I haven't tried it yet. I'm just itching to go home and give it a go today! I'm not expecting earth shattering results right away (err..trying to not expect ..lol) but I was wondering if anyone here owns one and has any tips for using it, caring for it, and basically any tips about it including and not limited to what to expect form it?
I did find the few reviews on chickadvisor but wanted to ask if anyone else here owns one or used one for their 'real time' advise.
I'm so excited :-) What a hyped product!!! I really hope it lives up to it for me.
Hi Becky! on Nov 12, 2012 @ 09:30 pm
How are you, are you still taking classes as well as working?? I don't know how you can deal with all of that everyday, but I do wish you all the best with all you do. I haven't seen you on in so long!! I hope everything is going well for you and your hubby. We miss you around here!!
I don't have one of these, but just had to stop and say hi when I saw your name on the main page. I do have the Olay one that's similar to this, at least it looks similar. LOL I love mine and I love it even more because I got it for free.LOL
I'm sorry I wasn't any help to ya, but I'm sure someone that has this will answer all of the questions you have about it soon.
Take care kiddo and do stop by more often when you can. HUGS!! :)

Thanks so much for commenting with you sweet msg!!! :-) I miss you guys too! I do come on here anytime I can to at least keep on top of the articles at least but not nearly as much as I would like. I'm still doing classes and working full time *sigh* ... it gets hard especially since I have to keep my gpa above 90% in order to keep my scholarship! :( oh well... almost over, it's almost over (or so I tell myself). Sometimes on the good days I start planning to do my PhD after this lol!!
I did my homework before buying the clairsonic mia but I wanted to hear if any of my CA girlfriends had experience with this gadget.
Olay Pro X brush actually got great reviews. You can see some comparision review vlogs here and here

I've had a clarisonic for almost 2 yrs now and I like it. It doesn't do miracles for me, but I do find it cleans slightly better than my hands and a cleanser. I like to deep pore brush head, find it to suit my skin better, helps exfoliate on a dialy basis but I still need my regular scrubs and exfoliants.
I just take it out once a week, and rinse the head with alcohol or diluted peroxide, to kill off any bacteria.
Let us know how you like it.
Clarisonic Pro on Nov 13, 2012 @ 02:29 pm
I have the Pro version, but the principles are the same.
I always use an anti-bacterial soap to rinse off my brush head after I've used it. Be aware that, if you wear a lot of makeup, you'll see a lot of it on your brush head! It can change the colour of the bristles, although I have never had that issue.
I also always take off the brush head and give the unit a really good rinse when I'm done. I think it even says to do that in the instructions, although it may say once a week. I'm just paranoid. :-)
Before you use it, make sure to charge it fully, like a mobile phone, lol, and let it completely run down before recharging again. It's a bit of a pain in the arse, but I've read reviews where people have complained about it not holding a charge, but again, I have never had this issue.
So, when you first use it, and I didn't find this happened with the Olay Pro X brush (which I used to have and then upgrade to the Clarisonic), you may find you're getting spots that you didn't have before. This lasts maybe two weeks tops. Because I find this brush really does clean deeper than similar types on the market, I figured this was just part and parcel of the job it was doing.
I find my skin looks less oily in spots, my dry spots don't look as dry, the fine lines I did have are almost gone or are much finer, and I don't use nearly as much moisturizer anymore.
I think my skin looks more youthful and glowing. I don't know how "soft" my face is. It was never like leather so I can't really say it's "softer than before" although I know many people say that this is the case.
Anyway, I love my Clarisonic and hope you love the Mia!

I keep walking past the MIA at Sephora and I contemplate buying it, but I can't seem to actually go through with it. It's just a big chunk of change to spend all at once and to be honest I get worried about breaking out even though I have heard this goes away.
I'm wondering how often you need to buy the new heads? Also, does it matter what cleanser you use with it?
Response to AlexJC on Nov 13, 2012 @ 03:04 pm
Clarisonic can be used with any cleanser (I use Spectro Gel to be honest!)
The recommendation is every three months to replace the brush heads. If you're only using it once a week, that would last a whole lot longer.

i got one as a christmas gift and its very nice, you can use any cleanser you want with it and only have to worry about changing the brush heads after a couple of months if you use it often, i like the sensitive skin brush head as its not too rough on the skin and because i have very sensitive skin i do not use the clarisonic every day

So I've been using my MIA since mid-November 2012.
My experience so far has been:
**A pimple scar that I've had for a very long time is now completely gone because of the MIA. I concentrated the MIA on the scar and after a few uses I noticed it started to fade. It's completely gone now. I've only been using it since mid-November mind you.
**Every time I use the MIA my skin is super refreshed, bright and clear looking.
**I didn't experience any sensitivity
**I didn't get any breakouts
**My dry patches have completely gone
**After using the MIA I've come to realize that I really don't have the "dry" skin that I've always thought I had!! I actually have normal dehydrated skin!! That's why too-rich creams (e.g. PTR moisturizer for dry skin) brings forth a pimple overnight.
For my perfect skin I need the MIA and a good quality moisturizer. My current two favourites consist of the one from Sephora (pink tub) and the Korres rose brightening moisturizer. The perfect amount of moisture without being too heavy.
**There is no "con" with the product. My only "con" is I don't use it every day. I wish I did because I absolutely love the results I get with it every time.
I highly recommend this product. It's expensive but it is SO worth it. The MIA has made a really big difference in my skin and my skincare regime. I hope they never discontinue it because I don't know what I would do if they did.

Hey girl you asked about what cleanser to use. The MIA comes with its own cleanser which imo sucks. It's just a slippery liquid soap and I didn't feel like it added anything beneficial during my cleansing routine.
I use the sensitive skin head that came with my MIA. I don't use the cleanser that came with it, I just don't like it. I use whatever cleanser I'm into at the moment and I find that this one "sensitive" head is very versatile. If I'm feeling like a gentle cleanse I can use something non-abrasive like the Olay cleansers, or if I'm feeling like a good clean (which is pretty much always) I can use Aveeno brightening or as I'm doing right now use the Korres brightening cleanser. The tiny beads make the clean more deep and thorough. This way my one brush is super versatile!

You should change the brush heads every 3 months and it's advised that you do not use an exfoliating cleanser with it.
