Cleaning a Washing Machine

Hello everyone!

I recently moved and have a communal, coin-operated washing machine for a 4-unit complex I live in.  I've noticed lately that my skin has been really itchy and I narrowed it down to being the worst right after I wash my clothes.  I already use laundry stuff without chemicals or fragrance but I'm worried that maybe my neighbors are using something that's irritating and it's staying in the washer maybe?

Does anyone have any ideas for a way to "clean" the washing machine without running an actual load? (for one it takes like 30 minutes and another, it costs me a dollar every time)

Thanks!

Is it possible that the problem is in the dryer ... maybe the down sheets or some kind if fabric softener that are left behind??

I'm not sure actually how you would do that because once the water comes in and fills it up, is either clothes or I would put some kind of cleaner in the water like CRL or something stronger ,just in case you don't find out what's causing this problem. If a cleaning agent doesn't take care of it,if I were you I would ask my neighbour what they are using in the washer.Good Luck.

Could you wipe it on the inside with vinegar and water? And then with a clean cloth soaked in water?
