Does Anyone Else Get Breast Pain?

It is so annoying - I'm getting a deep, burning pain in my left breast that is just not going away. I don't get periods anymore (endometrial ablation & tubal ligation) but I do still get all hormonal and emotional at the end of each month, which bites.

I'm in my 30's and I already have been examined by my Dr and had a clear mammogram (which isn't as bad as I expected btw in case anyone is curious. I have natural DD's, not sure if it would be more pinchy if you have fakies or if you have smaller breasts). Anyhow, been checked out and I'm fine but this pain is so annoying!

If you get this kind of hormonal breast pain, what do you do to feel better? It's so sensitive I can't even wear a bra. I've been wearing a bandeau bra top that holds me in snugly and allows for little movement day and night for like a week or two. It's so uncomfortable! I had mastitis before 8 years ago when I was last breast feeding and it kind of feels like that, minus the milk engorged breasts, redness and swelling. Are ice packs or moist heat best?

It's such an annoying, burning pain and I just shudder if the breast touches anything!

That is so weird, I've been feeling that same feeling on my left breast also for days. It comes and goes but usually the worst about 1 week in a half before my period.

It's always my left breast for some reason and I've had this for ages. I just try not to think bout it and not touch anything near it. If it becomes too unbearable, I take an extra strength Advil. That usually helps relief the pain for a little while.

I'm not glad that you're experiencing the same thing but it's good to know I'm not the only one. Because I'm so big on top I've had to wear snug and soft sports bras or bandeaus to keep me from moving but it gives me that dreaded uni-boob ugh :(

I randomly had a burning pain in my breast for about 2 or 3 days. I went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong and then it just went away one day. Weird!

Lucky us, huh? The most often cause of breast pain is hormonal. So if you're close to your cycle and it becomes a pattern that's likely what it is. My understanding, from talking to my Dr and reading literature on the subject, is that breast pain is rarely a sign of breast cancer as it is usually far advanced and diagnosed long before breast pain is a symptom of breast cancer. I'm not a dr though - always see a dr about any breast pain. It's usually just hormones or perhaps a cyst but better to be safe than sorry.
I personally have to be very careful about it because I've had more than 10 suspicious moles removed (one on the underside of that same breast). This means I'm 10 times as likely to get skin cancer compared to the average person. All this from two summers of indoor tanning in my 20's, which I will NEVER do again. I have to see a dermatologist every six months now and take pics monthly of all moles. I have maybe six more that are suspicious and have to be removed now. All from less than six months ago.
