| 12 Replies: mizzrobin | Often on Dec 15, 2009 @ 06:42 pm I make a point of drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day...not only does it make me feel satiated but my skin looks a lot better and I retain a lot less water if I am properly hydrated throughout the day.... | | Reply | | bubblybunny | only with meals on Dec 15, 2009 @ 10:09 pm Wow, mizzrobin, that's fantastic! I wish I can do the same but I just never remember to drink water. I work in a research lab; I can't have water on my work bench and I'm rarely at my desk. I only drink water when I eat my meals.
The lady who does my facial occasionally told me that for every cup of coffee I drink, I need to replenish the water content in my body with 3-4 cups of water. :S I drink one coffee every morning and I definitely am not drinking enough to recover from the coffee plus my daily needs. :( | | Reply | | mamaluv | me too! on Dec 16, 2009 @ 01:06 pm I'm with you, BB. I might come close to making up for coffee losses, but nowhere near Robin! Oh well :)
My problem is that I just don't care for water. I drink it because I know I should, not because it's a favourite beverage. | | Reply | | jovanna | Find the right one! on Dec 16, 2009 @ 03:23 pm Before I've never ever drank water at all, if I did it was very little and not much. I've never liked the taste of water, all of them would taste the same to me, nasty. No wonder I came here to ChickAdvisor wen I first heard of it asking like crazy what to do for my super dry skin that was driving me crazy. Specially my forehead, it was horrible! I swear it was like cracked dead dry skin on it, that's how it looked and wasn't able to put make up on cause it made it more visible.
A HUGE transformation now, I mean it, it has really changed and I love it. I have dry skin still but not like before and my forehead it's back to normal how is suppose to look. No more dry cracked dead skin. :D I wash my face twice a day now, in the morning and at night. I exfoliate my face twice a week, use moisturizer daily and sunscreen even though we're not in summer.
I drink water more often now, still working on it but I do drink more than I did before. After testing different waters because they do taste different for the ones that don't know this. Well at least for me...and the ones I like are Sam's Choice Purified and don't remember at the moment the name of the other one but it starts with a "D" I believe. Every time I get thirsty now I actually enjoy drinking water.
So for the ones that don't like water, well I still don't like water but I did find one that I do enjoy drinking...look for the right one. I know some of you guys will think I'm crazy, lol...and think, water is water, it all taste the same, it's just water cause I use to think that but now I don't.
Happy Holidays! xo...

BB - I've heard that too about for every coffee you should drink so many glasses of water to replenish. Yah, I need to work on that lol.
| | Reply | | mamaluv | find your fave on Dec 16, 2009 @ 05:05 pm I agree with Jovanna (and is it 'Deer Park' you're thinking of?), that if you find that one water you like, it can make all the difference! I personally love San Pelligrino (I know, could it be more expensive??), which I buy at Costco when the coupon comes out and I stock up on half a dozen cases :) It works out to cheaper than soda or juice, but is still a pricey option.
I have also started drinking filtered water with a slice of lemon. It's just enough to make me think I'm drinking something flavoured, but without the calories or strange chemicals. | | Reply | | meredithk115 | very very often on Dec 17, 2009 @ 06:48 am I drink a gallon a day...just because it IS the best thing for me :) They have an awesome electrolyte mix that they add to the water at my job-it has a light citrus flavor but I don't mind drinking it plain as long as its not from the tap (yuck).
I drink 2 big glasses as soon as I get up, then have 6oz of coffee. Once I get to work its all water all the time :) | | Reply | | curlysue10 | I drink a ton... on Dec 18, 2009 @ 11:50 am
Water is actually the only thing I drink aside from my morning coffee. I used to be like many of you: I didn't like the taste of water so I never drank it. My mom used to drink a ton and I always wondered how she did it. However I have made it into a good habit and now feel SO parched if I don't have several glasses a day.
My trick? I stated carrying a stainless steel water bottle (the Kleen Kanteen, which I have reviewed here on Chickadvisor) and am never without it. This got me into the habit of drinking water all day everyday. I even have one big glass with my multi vitamin before I go to bed and like jovanna mentioned my skin looks great for it!
So maybe pick up a cute stainless steel bottle (there are some really pretty ones now, check out SIGG which I know they carry at Roots) which you will want to carry around with you all day and trick yourself into drinking water :) | | Reply | | ali-de-bold | Water is my #1 drink choice on Dec 21, 2009 @ 05:56 pm I don't get when people say they don't like the taste of water. Nothing quenches my thirst like a cold glass of water. I drink it constantly all day long and have a glass beside my bed at night. Of course the hazard there is that you are constantly needing a bathroom break ;) | | Reply | | artist | Taste on Jan 08, 2010 @ 01:54 pm I love water too. But if you find that it's too plain, there are always ways to make it taste better. You can try adding a piece of fruit to your water, lemon is the obvious one... but a slice of strawberry, cucumber, lime or orange are also really tasty water flavourings. Another thing you can try is to dilute 100% juice (OJ perhaps) with club soda (cheaper than San Pellegrino or Perrier). Start with a higher concentration of juice to soda (or water) slowly increase the water/soda ratio. It's like your own homemade Orangina drink, but cheaper and better for you!
