Right now I tend to buy Prevention Healthy Woman at the newstands. I was wondering if you ladies would recommend any fitness magazines in particular on tips for working out and healthy eating etc. The magazine I currently get only comes out seasonally or every few month instead of on a monthly basis!

There's one called Fitness Magazine. There are TONS of stuff out there on working out and healthy eating. Shoot, there's one with a male author. Gives you specific instructions on excercises and food. 12 week intense program. i'll find out the name.

It's my favorite fitness magazine...I'm ultra girly so I always have my Vogue and Elle coming, but I am also a gym buff so I searched for the best one, and found it. Women's Health is also another favorite, but there's just something about Shape. It's fitness based, but has health reviews, makeup and fashion, delicious recipes, and everything you could want all wrapped into one. I have Oxygen coming as well, but I can't wait until the subscription runs out lol. Almost 3/4 (and i'm not exaggerating) of the magazine is different advertisements for the next and latest diet pill or dieting plan and at the end of each one is about a 4 page feature of a fitness championship of women...you know, the ones who look like they could bench press a house? Well I don't find that attractive and don't care to read about it in every issue, so Oxygen is out for me.
Try going to a bookstore or large multigrocery store (Target is always a fav) and look through all the fitness magazines to find one that suits you best.

Thanks for the input Paris! You gave a very concise review of the different magazines out there. I have not checked out Oxygen but based on what you wrote I probably won't. I have seen Shape and Fitness on the newstands. I will check those out. I guess it is trial and error til I find the right one for me!
