Well,I can put a name to my illness,Gastroitis. Not a very nice thing to have. There were days,I swear that I prayed to die, that is how sick I was.I never ever want to experience anything like that again as long as I live.In the midst of all this sickness, there are four days I don't remember anything about.I guess I just went through the  emotions. All this started with bad chills and severe headache, which lasted for two weeks. If you guys ever feel like this, see your Doctor right away.

Is there a cure? Or is it just ongoing management?

Hope you start to feel better!

Feel better soon! on May 22, 2016 @ 04:04 pm

Oh yuck! My sister had gastritis once from taking too much Advil. Do they know what caused yours so you can avoid it in the future?

Antacids are your best friend! Hope you're 100% better very soon!

I'm glad you figured out what it was. I hope you will feel better soon. :)

MelRichard, you could get this from taking too many Advils? OMG, I learn something new everyday on this site. I take a lot of advils because I always get headaches (I always get headaches ever since I was a child) I think it's hereditary because everyone on my mom's side of the family gets them. Yikes!

Just in case you don't know if you eat a lot of broccoli that can add to your situation as can too much caffeine products. Just cut down if you are consuming these.

I had a four day stomach bug and it was awful. I can handle colds and my constant allergies but I hate the vomiting and endless nausea. It feels like it lasts forever. Hope you're on the mend!

I have gastritis on May 23, 2016 @ 09:41 am

I have been suffering from gastritis for over 10 years now as it was a side affect from a surgery I had when I was younger. It was something I figured out on my own and was a very painful start. My pain would last for days with painful stomach pains that felt like gallstones and would usually lead to throwing up and a very sore stomach for days.
It is very manageable with medication and proper diet. Personally my issue is that a produce too much stomach acid when I eat certain foods or drinks. I have to stay away from carbonated beverages, deep fried/fatty foods, alcohol, high acidic foods (tomatoes, oranges), and things high in caffeine. And if I do want any of these things I have prescribed medication that I take so I can indulge, but for the most part I avoid things that are triggers so I don't have to depend on taking the medication every day.
Antacids are okay if you only have a mild case but for me it does not work so I would suggest if zantac or other high end antacids dont work then ask for a prescription and hopefully you find the right one that works for you. Good luck
