I recently had a visit with my family doctor due to excessive migranes and found out my extereme intake of sugar, caffeine and etc are to blame. I already knew i ate unhealthy and knew it was bad but didnt care. So i have decided maybe a vegan diet might be the healthiest. My question is for any vegans and non vegans what are your opinons on this diet.

Honestly, i don't think its very healthy unless you do every single thing you're supposed to do. for example you must eat enough substitutions that equal the amount you would get on a regular diet. like the ratio of lentils to a steak or something. A lot of people don't so they end up getting very sick. Although i have heard its a great diet for people prone to severe migraines.

I personally don't think it's very healthy but you have to decide the trade offs. Many vegetarians/vegans have low iron, B12 and other deficiencies because they cannot get adequate amounts when cutting out animal and dairy products. Ensure you use supplements then.
Why not just cut out the sugar and caffeine and see what happens?

Good response from Guppy. I would definitely do this in stages. Cut out the caffeine and sugar first. Talk to a nutritionist and see what he or she says. If you go vegan you must remember to cover all your bases and eat healthy. Quinoa is excellent, has the majority of the nutrients your body needs and so much can be made from it. You can even get Quinoa flour to make breads etc. But first I would cut out the coffee, and definitely lower your sugar intake. That could be what is causing these headaches, but keep in mind, when you first cut out caffeine it could give you headaches due to the withdrawal symptom's. Be safe, talk to some one who knows more about this. Remember it is your health we are talking about here.
