I'm deficient in several vitamins and minerals because of my bowel diseases. One of them is vitamin D. I've heard of babies being deficient and needing drops but I didn't really think it affected adults that much. Now I need a vitamin D pill daily in addition to all the other crap I need. I always thought that if you got 15 mins of sunshine a day you'd be okay but I guess not.

Jamieson has a vitamin D available at SDM and Walmart. We use it in our household.

I have ARFID, so I'm deficient in everything. And I can't swallow pills so I have to take a daily multivitamin that's chewable. It was really difficult to find one that had everything I need and was still chewable. I'm also anaemic so I take daily iron and try to take protein when I can.
I feel ya, it sucks <3

Yeah, I've been taking them, I guess I'm just surprised adults have this deficiency. Although I suppose with everyone being more diligent about sunscreen and more people being vegan it's more likely to happen. I got mine at SDM too :)

I too am deficient in Vitamin D.
I tried the liquid form, but you have to measure and mix it in liquid - always questioned how much of the oily vitamin residue was left around the glass and hence not ingested.
I then tried a pill format and found it much easier. I too purchase Jamieson vitamin D at Walmart - the orange chewables are the easiest way to take it.

I have to Google what that is, I haven't herd of it. Ohhhh, I've been really anemic before - it's awful taking iron pills!!
I also hate huge pills - some of those things are so large! I got used to taking handfuls of meds at a time since I've been sick though. I used to take one at a time lol. At one point I had 20 pills just for my morning meds and that was not including vitamins!! Now I'm down to 7 plus vitamins for the morning thankfully. Those omega 3's are gigantic! I'm like you, I much prefer a chewable or gummie vitamin but I haven't found a multivitamin that gives me everything I need in the correct IU dosage. I love the calcium chews (chocolate!! Yum).

My new doctor recently put me on this super strength Vitamin D pill (once a week for 12 weeks) - it's about 5000 times the normal amount someone should have in a day.
He'll put me to a lower dosage once they recheck my bloodwork.
I am also new to Monthly Vitamin B shots - I haven't noticed a huge difference in energy levels since the first shot, but I assume it takes time.

Online stores I've found to be the best for actual good chewable vitamins. The kids ones are useless ^_^;
I use Nature's Plus Exotic Red Super Fruits Adult's Multi-Vitamin Chewable. It's got 90 tablets.
I buy in bulk! I spend about 100 on vitamins/iron every 6-8 months.

Holy cow! That's crazy! I hope you're feeling okay. I have horrible fatigue - worse than any tiredness I've felt in my life. Just got blood work done. Hoping it's not my thyroid again.
Lorna, I believe it! I spend around that much in vitamins / minerals too. I hate that even though they are prescribed they're not covered. They are so expensive. And that's not including my monthly Align purchase. I look for sales but it's usually $40 for a box that lasts a month and Align is the best. It's what I was prescribed by my Dr to help with the bowel diseases I have. I'm so broke I can't pay attention haha

There's lots of different supplements, but there are cheaper ways to get vitamin D. Being in the sun, with as much skin showing as you're comfortable with helps. Sunshine is the main source of vitamin D. If you're inside a lot, then that may be the cause of your deficiency. There's also different foods to eat that have higher amounts of vitamin D in them. Just do a google search and you'll find a list of all those things!
|IS ANYONE ELSE DEFICIENT IN VITAMIN D? on Apr 22, 2016 @ 11:11 am|
Yes I was told by my doctor that I was low in Vitamin D. I take Vitamin D every day as well as Multi-Vitamin and Calcium.
