laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis

Awaiting a date to go in for conservative laparoscopic surgery to remove some endometriosis deposits/growths -  opting to remove whatever endo is 'in there' to alleviate pain - leaving the lady bits until later in life for now! Just wondering how long recovery was, and what outcomes have been there for others.

laporoscopy on Mar 01, 2015 @ 03:28 am

Hi. i have Endometriosis and had three
laparoscopys. it was a day surgery so i went home the same day. the pain was manageable with the pain meds they gave me. it took me a few weeks to feel better from the surgery, about three to four weeks. unfortunately for me it did not work and i have no relief from the pain. i hope that you will have better success and you will be pain free after surgery. Good luck and all the best to you, stay strong.

pain relief from medication? on Mar 02, 2015 @ 05:00 pm

Very sorry to hear that you still have no relief after three surgeries! Do you get any pain relief from medications?
Was it an endometriosis specialist performing your procedure, or your gynecologist? I heard one person say that their bladder was nicked, and this was only for confirmatory, not even a removal laparoscopy. They do advise beforehand can be a complication, and I guess everyone is different, at this point I would risk the bladder nick if there is even a slight chance of getting some relief.

Be strong. I know exactly what you are going. my surgery was done by a **gynecologiste**the pain is still there after 3 laparoscopys but it might work for you every case is different. am in severe pain right now am just doing this reviews to try and consontrate on something other than the pain. i don't know what you have tried before as meds. here is some things i tried but didn't work.. birth control, lupron injections, etc. right no i am on a treatment called cyclomen it is a pill to treat endometriosis. have you tried those? pain meds don't really work for me. sorry i commented before as anonymous did'nt know how it worked. feel better. i use a heating pad or a hot water bottle. maybe it might help.
