| Midol on Sep 27, 2009 @ 02:26 pm I always had the biggest cramps, mood swings and bloating when I was on mine. But recently I saw Midol @ a local drugstore. Never, ever again will I touch anything besides Midol. I've been through it all - Tylenol, Aspirin and Advil - nothing made me feel THIS normal before.
When I got home I google-ed it and surely enough it has been the go to product for many women on the net. I cannot believe I had to suffer so very much every month.
I would recommend it to any woman, any day.
Seriously.

docmp | naproxen or pills? on Nov 14, 2009 @ 10:44 am I understand the pain u go thr'. I too have the same problem. The only thing that works for me is Naproxen,But whenever u take any pain killer ,esp naproxen,u need to ve something in ur stomach, otherwise u can get ulcers, due to the medicine reacting with stomach mucosa etc. If u can not eat anything,a cup of milk is good enough. Also freshly minced ginger,in tea helps me a lot too..i start taking ginger tea before my menses begin, about 2/3 days prior..so it gets rid of all the bloating etc.
less of moving around ,resting after the meds ,helps n reduces the lenght of painful days too..I don't like to take meds ,so i take only 1 tablet..when i feel my menses r about to begin..this way it works better,as compared to waiting till u get a major cramp.
another option is to take PILLs (talk to ur gynaec) for about 3 months,n then go back to normal, and c how it worked for u.
others ve said about midol etc, they were too mild for me,n i felt like it didnt work a bit for me.
hope this helps..btw ,i m a dr! |
lissa_layne | It sucks being a girl on Nov 16, 2009 @ 09:54 am I'm with Rugbymom. I used Advil at the first twinge and a hot bean bag.
I thought I was the only one. I have also used a hot water bottle but
the bean bag is nicer (no leaking). I too get physically ill- throwing
up and nauseous if I don't get Advil at the very start. I tried Midol-
nothing! About 7 years ago I got some drops from a local naturopath and
it made a BIG difference. Unfortunately I went on the pill YAZ and
after I stopped taking it I was back where I started. YAZ was great, I
miss not having any problems!
For mood swings I take Evening Primrose oil. My Mum and My hubby both would vouch that it makes me a lot more reasonable. Ok and while I'm on the topic- I HATE the Tampax slogan "Being a Girl Rocks!" It must have been written by a man b/c no girl would wish our symptoms on their worst enemy! |
