I have never had to deal with acne before... NEVER! Maybe 10 pimples for my twenty-something years of my life... now, I am getting them around the chin and above my lip. It's a huge deal and I don't just want to cover it up with makeup as I'm not really a heavy make-up person.
Any suggestions? Products that work well?
I've tried clean and clear and it does nothing for me... I drink water, I eat healthy too...

How bad is your acne??? Is it just a FEW pimples or getting really bad?? Reason I'm asking is because when I was younger, i never was diagnosed by the dermatologist as having ACNE, but I DID get one or two at a time that were HUGE and I was put on Accutane...but this shouldnt be a first remedy because you have to go for regular blood tests all the time, and dangerous if you plan on getting pregnant, etc. Anyways, it DID help in the end though and I have never had a pimple after that since it literally shrinks your poars! Another great remedy that I've heard from friends is Proactive...I always see the numerous infomercials on tv and always wondered if it actually DID work and apparently it does!!
Are you under a lot of stress at the moment or anything else that may be causing you to break out??

To me, horrible... but realistically, it's a few... 2 medium sized ones around the upper lip, one on my cheek and 6 little ones around my chin. I'm always under a lot of stress, unless my body is just not reacting to it the same. Actually, my gran is unwell and that could be bothering me more than I think.
Maybe I should give proactiv a try . . .

I usually get 1 or a couple every month or so and while I don't have any product that really works for I do have some advice.
DO NOT try to pop or pick at them its really hard, believe me i know. Also especially with your fingers/nails (since they will be dirty), if anything with q-tips. Just generally keep your hands away from it. Wash your face, drink lots of water, as you mentioned.
One of the last times I got a few spots I tried using the Garnier Pure SOS Anti-Blemish pen (i had tried it before but didn't think I got many results). My sister said it worked pretty decent for her before to clear things up in a few days so I thought what do I have to lose?
Anyway I used it on 2, one of them my skin was already alittle broken/cut and it didnt really help, then other one which was just a spot that was basically untouched. i got them both around Friday/Saturday and by the next Tuesday the one that wasnt cute was pretty much gone! So that's not so bad. I think they are about $10. I didnt use it when I went out only when I got home and I was in the house/when I went to bed. So you can try that maybe it'll help.
Here's some reviews from other girls, to give you more of an idea of them!

I found as I got older the same thing has happened to me I get one or two big pimples that are not flattering and always on the chin.I just try keep my face clean I use Burts bees soap bark and chamomile deep cleansing cream.I really love the lemon peel oil in it makes my skin feel fresh and clean. When I have bad breakouts I dab tea tree oil on it which you can find anywhere now. Many anti blemish products have tea tree oil in them and cost a fortune your better to buy a bottle and dab straight on the blemish or mix with distilled water and make a toner.

I like the sounds of that...keeping it as natural/simple as possible. Thanks

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention earlier that I've always heard...use a cleanser or plain soap at nite and plain WATER on your face each morning, nothing more.
|Really? on Dec 21, 2011 @ 03:37 pm|
I will try the plain water thing too... maybe my face is trying to tell me stop all the chemicals.

I have very sensitive skin. Try using only hypoallergenic cleansers, creams and make up on your face. I use a cleanser from H20 that works amazing on my skin and feels like water. I use a light cream from them as well and found after I switched all my makeup to hypo allergenic and wash my brushes every time I'm done applying make up there was a big change. I also changed my diet to include less gluten and almost no dairy.
