Probably nothing to worry about... on Feb 26, 2012 @ 09:21 pm
First of all, I'm going to start by saying, at 12 years old I really hope you are not having unprotected sex! In fact 12 is too young to be having any kind of sexual contact! So I'm going to assume that you are not concerned about pregnancy.
Don't worry yet! on Feb 26, 2012 @ 09:49 pm
I'm assuming that because you are quite young you aren't having sex and least of unprotected sex (which is ALWAYS a bad idea, can't stress that enough) so you won't be pregnant. Also, being young, I am assuming that you haven't been getting your period for very long. Most likely, it is your body just regulating itself. For about a year or maybe even more after I first started getting my period, it was always all over the place and some months it would just skip even. Most likely, this is the case- just your body regulating, it may take a while.
However, it's always best to be safe rather than sorry so contact a doctor- they're the only one who will be able to tell you for sure what's going on!

Another thing to consider - how is your general health? have you been excessively dieting or exercising? Missing your period can also be an indication that your body is not able to handle a possible pregnancy. It's quite common in the animal kingdom for female animals to lose their cycle during times of low food or difficult environmental conditions. Also, are you taking a birth control pill (many girls are prescribed this for acne and other hormonal issues, etc)? Your body could be having difficulties with the medication.
If you are not sexually active, have not been stressing your body with too much dieting or exercising, and it has been a few years since your period began OR you're on a birth control medication, then you should check with your doctor. But if, as others have suggested, your period is still fairly new (less than 1 year since the first time), then I would agree that it's probably nothing to worry about.

Depending on when you got your first every period, witch I assume wasn't
all that long ago, its normal. When I first started I would be fine one
month, have nothing the next then have it twice the next month. I was
all over the place so bad that by the time I was fifteen my Dr put me on
the pill just to straighten me out. Your body is most likely just
finding its way and things will level out for you soon enough.
How ever if you have bin having unprotected sex, witch I really really
hope isn't the case at your young age, you should go to a clinic as soon
as possible. I'm not going to give you what I'm sure your expecting
your own mother to give you, if this is do to you having sex, but I
would like to remind you that its not a good thing for you to be doing
at your age in any way. I see so many of you young girl's now a days
wanting to be all grown up way to soon. Trust me being a grown up isn't
any fun at all and having a baby at your age really won't be any fun.
Think about it, when your friends call you wanting to go to the mall and
you have to tell them no because you have a baby to take care of. A
baby isn't a doll, its a little life that needs 24 hour a day care no
matter how you feel. Your going to want to sleep, but a baby is going to
want to be feed and changed somethings every two hours. They don't go
away when your sick, tried, or just want to be by yourself, it won't
just be you any more. Chances are if you have a baby you'll never finish
school and never be able to do the things you dream about doing. It's a
huge life changer for a grown up never mind how big it would be for
someone as old as you are. So please if you are going to have sex with
some boy, witch I really hope you don't! Make sure that you always use
protection and not just because you could get pregnant, but because you
could up dead!! And all because some guy gave you something he may not
even know he has. Sex can kill you now!! So please think about yourself
before you do have sex with anyone at anytime in your life vanderbelt27.
If you're not worried about this because you had sex, then you really
don't have much to worry about at this point. Just be happy to be as
young and as free as you are and grow into the best woman you can. If
you want to be a Doctor, a Lawyer, or even an artist, then you do every
thing you can to become what ever you want to no matter what anyone else
says. Please let us know how you are doing and always stay true to
yourself vanderbelt27. If you ever need any advice about anything you
just let us know and I'm sure one of us, if not a lot of us will do are

Thanks everyone! No, I am not pregnant!!!!! Also, I've been having them for a little over 2 years already....
Nothing to worry about on Feb 27, 2012 @ 10:16 pm
If you are not pregnant thaen there is nothing to be woried about! At this age and about having your period for about 2 years only it only not stable hormons. Everything will come to a place very soon and you will be regular! (Talking from experience) :)

I'm so happy to hear that you know for sure that you're not pregnant! Good girl, keep it that
way for a very long time!!
You shouldn't be to worried about being late then. I even went a
whole year with out having a period after I had my first son. I
thought something was wrong, but the Doctor told me I should be
happy, so I was.LOL
Like I said before when you first start it can take a few years to
level out to ever month and if your not on the pill it can start at
any time. Yes usually with in a few days of the last month start
date, but not always. If you don't have one this month and still
don't have one again next month, then going to the Doctor won't hurt any.
Its always best to ask him/her when you have questions, or your body is
doing something it hasn't normally done before. We can only give you
advice on our own experiences here, not real medical advice. You should
only ever take medical advice from your own Doctor!! Not your
friends, or from something you found on line. If you have more
questions feel free to ask us Chicks, we're always happy to help out
when ever we can. Now be a good girl and get to school, learn lots
and do great things. Hugs

Help on Oct 31, 2012 @ 02:02 am
I'm 12 to and I haven't had my period for this month but there where 2 days when I had bloud coming out but that was only for 2 days! I've only had my period since march or April this year? Is it common for my period to be late?? I don't have any sex or anything!
not unusual on Oct 31, 2012 @ 09:20 am
Anonymous, if you've only been having your period for about 6 months, it's still very normal for it to be irregular. Irregular can mean anything from uneven timing between periods to different amounts of blood during each period. In my experience my period didn't fully settle into a proper pattern until at least 1 year.
Is there anything else going on in your life right now? Many women (even women who've had their regular period for years) can have disruptions due to stress, extreme dieting, heavy exercise, or other illness. If you have any serious concerns you should of course check with your doctor or local women's clinic, but based on your age and assuming you're reasonably healthy, it's probably nothing to worry about.
