I found doing shellac helped me to stop the habit ;)

I made it my new years resolution to quit!
I carry around some travel clippers and an emery board everywhere now.
That way, when my nails don't feel smooth, I can fix it right away before they make it to my mouth.

I'm sorry to say that I have been a nail biter most of my life unfortunately.
I've found the best way in my opinion to stop, I tried almost everything and found I did the majority of my nail chewing when I sat quietly. I found that I needed to keep my hands busy, so I learned to knit, and also learned other easy crafts to keep my fingers busy instead of in my mouth.
I sure hope that this helps someone else out there.

this is the first time in my life I have actual nails. I have bitten my nails all my life and for some reason since my shoulder surgery I stopped. The side that had the surgery on I have almost full nails. the other hand not so good but getting there. Every once in a while I put on nail hardner.

I had a lot of trouble when I was younger, but as I got older, I just put my mind to it and I stopped! I find it's still tempting on occasion as they get so long they get in the way.

I find good care works great. I treat my nails gently and make sure to trim and shape them. For me, the benefit came from beauty. I love being able to put nail polish on them and having them look gorgeous, so now I take great care with them!

I still bite them off on occasion, but I don't feel 'out of control' about it anymore. Now it's a choice, not an addiction ^_^

Its so hard to quit. on Jan 26, 2016 @ 04:55 pm

I chewed my nails most of my life then stopped for 2 years, was doing so well, Bought new polishes and had them painted all the time. Then I just started again and its soooo hard to stop. I hope i can stop again.
I was able to quit smoking for 5 years so far, but this has been harder for me.

That bitter stuff you put on did nothing for me.

Do you find it's when you're stressed?

I still sometimes nibble when I'm having a hard time I'll bite them all off.
