It is suppose to be really good for you to take a beauty nap during the day. But for me I find if I lay down for a nap during the day I can not sleep at night. I guess it depends on the person.

Hi, I find that if I nap during the day, I feel worse when I wake up. Plus, it makes me where I can't sleep at night. I just toss and turn and end up feeling bad the next day too! Even though I don't have an outside job, naps just aren't for me. I try to keep busy during the day. It seems as if there isn't enough hours in a day to get every thing done. Great topic and I look forward to reading all the replies!! Ginger

I agree with you Ginger not enough time in a day. Men work from sun to sun a Women's Work is never done.

So, so true Christine. My husband works sometimes 12-14 hour days and he's ready for bed when he gets home. For me, I do all around the house and outside with the gardening etc. I pick up 2 of our Grandsons from Kindergarten and Daycare, make their supper, clean at my daughters house and come home and do what needs to be done here. Plus, Earnie needs walked, groomed, nails cut and his meds given to him. I go through 100's of e-mails a day, do laundry, cook supper, do the little things our husband's never think of doing. There's just never enough time. I've found where I just prioritize things now. If the laundry doesn't get done that day, so what. Women are constantly having to do some thing.

I only wish I could nap! The odd time I can sneak one in if I'm super tired but that's rare...I can't sleep when my daughter sleeps because I'm too busy cleaning or doing things I can't when she's awake. I used to nap every day when I was pregnant though *sigh* those were the days lol

I am a university student, so I feel like naps are part of my vocabulary. I don't nap everyday, but when I do nap, I certainly enjoy it! I always have to set an alarm though, otherwise I'll wake up two hours later and feel sleepier than I did before. I think studies say that you're not supposed to nap more than 20 to 30 minutes or it interrupts the sleep cycle. The shorter, the better, the more energizing!

I don't make a habit of it but, sometimes I fall asleep for a few minutes in the evening while watching my soaps on TV.Sometimes I just can't help it,especially if I happen to be up real late the night before or if I was really busy that day.Since I retired a few years ago I hardly look at the clock and if I want to stay up really late,I do.I try not to nap too long though because,it makes me harder to fall asleep when it's bed time.I don\t nap long enough to wake up sleepy or energized .I just get up and continue whatever I was doing before.

I used to have a really bad habit of going for a nap and waking up 3-4 hours later and it would ruin my sleep habits at night. I tried to set an alarm to wake me up after an hour, although I found I woke up even more tired. My naps were full on going to sleep though. I would put my pjs on, curl up in bed and turn off the lights. I do not understand why but I found that sleeping with the light on helped, maybe because I didn't reach my deep sleep, but I found I woke up more energized if I slept with the light on.

Oh how I love naps! Prior to getting two puppies - naps and I were wonderful friends! Now that I get the rare chance to take a mid-day snooze I definitely treasure it
