Has anyone tried the NuvaRing? My doctor called it the "greatest thing since sliced bread." as she wrote a prescription for me! Apparently you can use it continuously, three weeks at a time, and completely skip your period ever month!! She also said it was easier on the mood swings. The pill delivers hormones in waves everyday, so you are constantly going up and down in hormone level, while the ring delivers a constant and steady flow of the hormone so you are never "coming down".
Just wanted to know if anyone else had any thoughts, concerns or experiences they would like to share about the Ring!?

The NuvaRing is recommended by many doctors and I think that it's definitely worth trying, with chances being that it will be perfectly fine for you with, as they say, no extreme mood swings, and you don't have to think about taking a pesky pill every day. On the flip side, I myself tried it over a year ago but my experience was not good. I didn't get past 30 days with it because my mood turned frighteningly black. I'm normally upbeat and optimistic, but I felt like a different, very unhappy, person on the verge of rage. Even though my doctor recommended that I give it a fair try of 30 days, I was afraid I'd do something rash (like tell a friend off, quit my job, etc.) and discontinued it. Afterward, I googled NuvaRing to see if I was alone in this. I found there were examples of bad reactions, and some that were blissful. All of which is to say, it may be right for some and not for others. I just wish that doctors would be more clear about it, like anything, not being right for everyone. For me, I am not very tall and have a slight frame, so perhaps that played into why it wasn't right for me. Who knows, but it's one of those things that you can't know until you try it. Even though my experience wasn't good, no harm was done and I still would recommend trying it, because if it works for you, then it would be awesome and carefree. Good luck.
