Has anyone heard of "oil pulling"? It's where you swoosh around a tablespoon of oil (coconut oil or sesame oil) in your mouth for about 15-20 minutes and it is supposed to flush out your mouth from trapped bacteria and make your teeth whiter. I've tried it but I just can't get passed the moment when you feel like you are going to gag.

Ya it's hard to do it for so long. I don't feel like I'm going to gag, I just cants breathe enough through my nose. But it's so good for you.

I've tried it... It does take some time to get used to it. It's better to use high quality (organic, from a health food store) than a cheaper version (i.e. Walmart). It's good to multi-task as you are oil pulling so it distracts you and the timing goes by faster.

After swishing the oil around for 15 minutes, the "used" oil should be spat into the garbage and not down the drain. Otherwise, this will clog up your pipes and plumbing since it's a highly concentrated oil. Always in the garbage and to rinse your mouth out with warm water and to brush your teeth afterwards. Do this on an empty stomach before any food. That's it!

I have heard about this from coworkers recently. A few have tried it no one has made it part of their daily routine yet.
