got my peiod twice on Apr 26, 2010 @ 09:08 pm

Hello,, Ok so this is it
I'm super concerned... I got my period twice this month.
the first time I got it on apr-9 it lasted a week like always...
but the day after i finished having my period (apr 16) me and my bf had sex, the condom broke, so I took the morning after pill....
(I've taken it 4 times in the last 4 months), then on ap 23rd i had my period again, it wasn't a light bleeding o little spotting, cuz I've read a lot about it, but it did last 2 days, today I'm still spotting but its a little brown, it ain't blood anymore...
my second period was dark red, and i had cramps like every other period unlike the first one (april 9)... and Ok, I've been talking with my bf about this, and I'm gonna take a pregnancy test tomorrow, and I asked my mom to take me to the doctor just to check... but I would still like to see what you guys have to say about this...
thanks :D

period all the time on Aug 06, 2010 @ 11:25 am

When I first got my period when I was in grade 7, It would not go away, or it would go away for a couple days and then come back really strong. I blead through extra heavy tampons and pads when used together. This lasted for years until the doctor found the right medications to regulate and control it. Apparently this is not uncommon. The doctor put me on birth control and there are also some other stronger medications to help stop and regulate bleeding.
The doctor is deffinetly the best person to go to when issues with mother natures monthly gift arrise. We can's see what is going on up in there. Doctors have many tests, methods and ways to help us with our female issues. There may be issues with things like iron levels, clotting hormones ect...or some other levels could be off.
Deffinetly recommend the doc.
Don't outrule a pregnancy just becuse you are using condoms or birth control...you can still get pregnant and using the morning after pill could deffinelt induce a miscairage. I have friends who got pregnant with condoms and the pill all because of an antibiotic.
good luck

*i'm having this same problem. at first i got my period regularly on the 14th or 15th and they lasted about 5 days a usual. well me and my boyfriend have been sexually active for a year now and over that years time i would get my period sooner and sooner, it went from the 15th to the 4th or 2nd of the month. and for the last three months i've ended in one month and started my period again in that same month towards its end. and this month i ended on the second and started today on the 26th. i know i should go to the doctor but any input is deeply appreciated:)*

common missconception on Nov 22, 2010 @ 04:11 am

The morning after pill will not terrminate a pregnancy, I have had to take it and I read threw every single word in and on that box and it clearly says that the plan b/morning after pill (whatever you want to call it) will not do anything if you are pregnant, that is why it is less effective after a a x amount of time (i belive 48 hrs.. ) becouse implantation can take 1-4 days to occure. Alot of people do think it will, they think thats why there are two pills, its not its just the dosage you need, the pill messes with your normal hormones and creats a hostile enviorment for traveling sperm but not for a fertalized egg. It is a larg dose of hormone and can cause early or late periods, or make it abnormal (shorter/longer then normail ect) esspesially if you take it close to your up comming period. It made me a week late. My guess is that it was the pill caused the 2nd period. but going to a doctors never hurts.

2 periods in the same month on Dec 27, 2010 @ 03:07 pm

I am 25 years old, and I am on birth control (Microgestin FE 1/20), I have been taking my pill every night around the same time(9:15pm). I will be starting on my 4th pack/month of them on the 1st of January. Anyway, for the first time ever, I too have gotten two periods in this month. My first period started on December 1st, lasted for 6 days. And yes, during that period, I was having sex with my boyfriend. And my second period just started on the 21st, and I am still on. The flow, etc, of this period is about the same as my first, if not slightly more so. Both pretty heavy. However, during this current period, I am not having sex. I have also been having cramps again, hurting a bit worse than others at times, and I have also been getting headaches this time too. Also, during my first period this month, when my boyfriend and I had sex, he did cum inside of me. But about 2 minutes afterwards, I did clean myself just incase.

What could be going on? I was told that it should take 2-3 packs of the pills to straighten it out, but like I said above, I am rather close to my 4th pack now, and it seems to me as if it's getting worse...? I got my pills from Planned Parenthood by the way, if that has any concern. Any help/advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Check with your Doctor on Dec 27, 2010 @ 05:32 pm

2 periods in one month can happen and it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. However, self-diagnosis isn't going to put your mind at ease. Definitely see your Doctor to make sure everything is as it should be. But so you know, when you first go on the pill it can take awhile for your system to adjust to it. Some people will miss entire periods or it will be on a wonky schedule. Sometimes it can also be a case of that particular pill isn't right for you. Your Dr. will be the best one to advise you. Please let us know what he/she says. Hugs!
