Hi so im wondering if i could be pregnant, what do you think...
So i have been on birth control pills for over 4 years.
i finished my package, and had my normal period. my period ended, and i had sex the day before i was supposed to start a new package. but i decided to stop taking them altogether. That was about 2 weeks ago that i had unprotected sex. I should be getting my period this week if its normal. but i know when you stop the pill you dont always get your period right away. i am wondering if it would even be possible to get pregnant that soon?
thanks, any advice is appreciated!

It's possible. You really shouldn't take careless risks like that.
But its also true when you stop taking pills your period does go a little haywire.
I really can't say. Are you having any symptoms? Did you take a pregnancy test?

I'm sure you already know this, but it's possible to get pregnant anytime you have sex no matter what kind of protection you are using. There is only one 100% guarantee of not getting pregnant, and that's not having sex. Period.
Having said that, it is very normal for your period to get a little wonky after coming off the pill. Just like many women experience irregularity in the first few months of starting the pill, many experience irregularity for several months after ending the pill.
If you do not get your period at all and if you start having other symptoms (tender breasts, nausea, etc), you should take a pregnancy test. However, if you're not pregnant, you should expect your period to resume fairly soon (within 3 months if not sooner). If you are 3 months with no period AND you have a negative pregnancy test, it's time to talk to your doctor.

Whenever you have unprotected sex, it's always a possibility. However like @malixy said, not being consistent with your pills can do funny things to your cycle. I would wait to see if you get your period this week and if not, then I would take a test and go from there. Also remember to see your doctor because at home tests can give false results.

not having any symptoms.. i wasnt really thinking i was being careless at the time, but then i started thinking now, that maybe it was. i thought b/c i had been on the pill for so long, that its still in your system. but since it was right after my period ended that maybe there is a possibility. also i thought i would get my period this week but i actually think it would be next week... but its also hard to say since i just stopped taking the pill.

Even when your on the pill its not 100%. I was on the pill for 11 years and it took me a year to get pregnant, but that was just me. I've known girl's that were on it for just as long as I was and they got pregnant right away. If you don't want a baby you should always be as careful as you can be no matter what age you are. I hope everything works out for you, but it really sounds to me like you maybe jumping the gun a bit and worrying for nothing right now. Give it another week and if you still haven't started take a pregnancy test, or see your Dr. that will settle your mind.
