I have really bad Acid Reflux, I do drink Diet Pop and I am overweight. My Acid Reflux gets so bad and I get heartburn so bad sometimes I feel like im gonna take a heart attack. I went to my doctor and he put me on Folic Acid to help me but it still does not work. I also take Zantac on the side 150 doseage and it helps a bit but not very much. Any ideas what I can do to help my Acid Reflux?

I'm sure you hear this from the doctor too, but the pop is bad for you if you ail from acid reflux. Lay off it, and you will get better. Besides, there is tastier stuff in the world to drink....
You really can't complain if you don't try.

I suffered from that before I had my gallbladder removed with 13 stones. It was horrible and I don't drink sodas of any kind, except Ginger Ale. My gastro doctor told me to take a spoonful of mustard. You can spread it on a sandwich or eat it by itself. It may sound gross, but my Mom does it.

I read that apple cider in small amounts is supposed to help with that. The one with the mother inside.

I recently went in and found out I have acids reflux. I don't drink a lot of pop and I'm not overweight but , My Dr. Put me on Sandoz-Rabeprazole and I have no more issues. He told me it has to do with a lot of foods we eat today. Maybe talk to him using that. Hope that helps.

Definitely cutting back or getting out the pop will help a lot, but also reducing your intake of coffee and juices if you drink that. Eating a banana will help when it's bad, same with eating something plain like bread or crackers. Make sure you're drinking enough water, too, to help flush away the acid. Eating a little bit of yoghurt can help. Also cut down on spicy or greasy foods if you're eating them, which will help with the heartburn. Hope something works! :)

My Husband has that a lot and he really suffers with it to.He takes Zantac for it,he only started taking them lately and find,it helps him a lot.He drinks diet Gingerale and Fresh Milk.He is only a small man I don't know if weight has anything to do with it but,I will tell you that certain foods will cause it.You have to figure out what you were eating that triggered it off.I hope this helps. That is what my Husband had to do.He had to stay away from take-out and eating after 7:00P.M.That is what helped him mostly.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I get really bad acid reflux! Sometimes so bad I puke and I can't take Rumsfeld or rolaids cuz they just make me puke. I know that there are pills that a doctor can prescribe to help but I'd they didn't work try changing your diet or eating smaller meals just more frequently rather then a big meal all together, and stay away from spicy food. That was my big mistake I love chilli but I had to stop eating it because of the acid reflux. Hope I hepled Good luck

Don't eat or drink anything in the hours before you go to bed! For like 3 hours, don't eat, because my brother finds this makes his 10 times worse

acid reflux that bad will not be controlled through zantax you don't need to just neutralize that acid you need to prevent it. A very common protein pump inhibitor is Pantorprozole or pantoloc it actually stops your stomach from making to much acid. If you don't get this under control you can seriously damage your sphincter that stops things from coming back up your oesophagus.
