In reference to the mosquito thread, I wonder if there is a perfect 3-in-1 product for skin care that addresses:
2. sun screen
3. bug repellent
These are the 3 things I need in summer and I hate have to address them all separately. My facial moisturizer does include an SPF, so we're getting somewhere w/ a 2-in-1 product. But are there any leads on all 3 being in product?

There are sunscreen/repellent combos on the market and have been for some time. Coppertone has one geared specifically for children, and you'll find plenty of "natural" combo products if you search online. And since sunscreen is a lotion, it'd probably do as a catchall 3-in-1 product for body. You wouldn't want to use bug repellent on your face anyway.
However, I've also heard that the chemical interaction between bug spray containing DEET and sunscreen can be unhealthy, with recommendations ranging from the order in which these products are applied (sunscreen first, then repellent), to using bug spray on clothing only, to never mixing the two products. Obviously, these combo products violate such recommendations.
I've also heard that mosquitoes are attracted to certain sweet scents, so certain perfumed sunscreens might make things worse. In my case it doesn't matter - mosquitoes love me no matter what I use. It's almost as bad as campfire smoke :)

I agree with mamaluv. a) I don't think it's a good idea to put bug repellent on your face and b) I also think there is a good scientific reason (the chemical interaction) why there are not many products with both sunscreen and bug repellent in them.
As you already mentioned, there are loads of facial moisturizers out there that have varying levels of SPF in them, so at least you're part of the way there!

There certainly are many good moisturizers with SPF in them as mamaluv and beautybyjenn mentioned...But I do not recall seeing a 3-1 moisturizer...However bugs are repelled by many natural ingredients like peppermint, rosemary, lemongrass and I have seen those ingredients in moisturizers before ,but they are strong essential oils so I'm sure they are added in very small doses.I always have a bottle in the summer mixed with distilled water and a few drops of peppermint essential oil and spritz myself to get rid of pesty mosquitoes and to cool myself down it really works well!So perhaps a good moisturizer/SPF and some herbal essential oils added in moderation should work.

that sounds like an excellent idea bren581! I love the scent of peppermint essential oil, myself - it's one of my favourites!
