Does this ever happen to you?
You're eating something delicious. The first 10 bites are delightful.
You know you'll have no problem finishing said dish. Then, moments
later, a majority of the dish has been eaten, but a small portion
remains. You're not full yet. But you don't want to eat it anymore. So
you stop -- but you're not full ... you can easily scarf down something
This happens to me w/ certain food. Its like I'm "tired" of the flavor. I'm not full, but I guess I'm full of that flavor.
This happened to me just now while eating the tuna fish salad sandwich I made and brought for lunch.
Does this happen to any of you? Am I nutty!?

I take that as full. I always stop eating before I get that 'full' feeling unless it is chocolate, in which case so help me!
I like my food to be exciting. Lots of fresh, natural ingredients. Even in desert it has to be natural. If it isn't, I get bore quickly as well.
but what if you're not full AT ALL?! on Jul 23, 2009 @ 01:35 pm
But what if you're "tired" of the flavor but your stomach is still ravenous!? And what I mean is those stabby pangs. Certainly you're not full ... right?
Bored! on Jul 24, 2009 @ 12:59 pm
Yes, I get bored of my food sometimes. Even if I know I have it ready and am gung-ho at the start, after a few bites it's like I don't want it anymore. Of course, if I'm ravenous I don't notice this - more like when I'm just moderately hungry.
I even find that if something is fresh, it doesn't necessarily excite my interest. Case in point, I bought a gorgeous head of romaine lettuce last week and dressed it up 3 or 4 different ways as salads over the next several meals. Guess what? I only ate a few bites each time and the rest landed in the compost bin. It can be hard to find really great lettuce at the store and I was so excited to see it that fresh... and then I didn't want it anymore. It's not like I tried something strange either - I used tried & true variations with my favorite ingredients, but still...
I totally get you, Spotty! I guess we're all just spoiled ;)
I agree! on Jul 24, 2009 @ 01:40 pm
that totally happens to me Spotty! I get bored of eating something and stop before I am full but could totally eat something else no problem...
That totally happens to me! on Jul 24, 2009 @ 03:11 pm
I was staring to think I had some kind of problem actually so I am quite relieved to see this topic here ... I didn't think anything as serious as an eating disorder or anything but I truly thought it was a problem. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but really, why does this happen?
I know what you mean! on Jul 24, 2009 @ 03:20 pm
I know exactly what you mean. If i don't think, i'll mechanically just scoop and eat with my hands without thinking. usually, i end up way too full though. And eating just before full is good because you even though you may be full, your body doesn't register right away.

My word that hapens to me all the time and my friends always laugh because immediately i can eat a different kind of food or dessert. The other night I had a Thai dish and i couldn't finish it...then i met up with other friends for sushi and i ate about 20 pieces!!
They never understand when i tell them "I am bored of this dish and the flavour"
ME TOO on Aug 20, 2009 @ 09:40 am
This always happens to me expecially with pastas because it is the same flavor bite after bite!!!! My husband thinks I'm weird because I will eat half of my dinner and then and hour later I will make a snack or if there is dessert around I will eat it....I love anything sweet!!!!!
Nope were not weird we just know what we want, and there is no point in filling our tummy with something we are not going to enjoy...LOL...
