Ladies I have been having a problem with thinning hair. I am currently using Viviscal and it seems to be helping a bit but I would love to hear some stories of things that help others. It's very depressing and I just need any pointers you may have! Thanks Chicks!

I have been having Viviscal since July of this year as well. I guess I have seen some improvement but nothing drastic as I was hoping. Have you had blood work? Have your blood checked if you haven't, you may be having thyroid issues or low iron. Other than that I can suggest washing your hair with an SLS free shampoo, there are plenty on the market, you will have to figure out which one suits you. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet and getting enough sleep and drinking enough water. Biotin as a supplement works well for some people as it may aid in hair growth. Hair loss is very tricky and can be stressful. Good luck.

If it's really drastic see your doctor in case it's alopecia or something!

THINNING HAIR on Nov 11, 2015 @ 10:22 am

I have always had very thick, natural curly and course hair. I have the kind of hair that I would spend a hour on styling go outside in the humidity or if it was raining and my hair would just go frizzy. I have done many thing from using straitening chemicals, hair products to reduce frizz and I remember when I was very young even trying to iron my hair lol. Over the past couple of years due to menopause my hair is changing. I have been losing hair and it is getting so much thinner. I tried a product call Fibralogy from Loreal Paris Canada. and it does seam to help make my hair appear thicker more so with every wash. I also have a Revlon Hair Dryer that really helps my hair look fuller. There are also vitamins especially made for hair you can try taking. I also trim my hair every couple of months which seams to have helped. It also may be cause by health problems so it is wise to get a physical done. All those years I complained about my thick hair and now I want it back.

I have had many tests done and they have told me I'm all okay. They think it's just age and hereditary. I have started to take biotin now and giving the viviscal a break for a bit. I am also using shampoo from the health store so I'm hoping all this helps.

Treatments on Nov 19, 2015 @ 09:10 am

Once a week I cover my whole head in coconut oil and leave it in all night. I wash in the morning and air dry. I also use olive oil in my hair time to time. I leave it in overnight or for a few hours then rise. I also bought a hair repair from Sally's bueaty salon called Ion overnight repair. It smells good and leaves my hair feeling full the next day. The less heat the better. Treatments are good throughout the month.

I love Aveda on Nov 19, 2015 @ 02:28 pm

I have noticed my hair thinning since the onset of menopause - sigh!!! I have enjoyed very good results with the Aveda Invati Line for thinning hair. It's a little pricey but it has made a real difference for me.
