Hi all just looking for a bit of advice if anyones ever had this. I got the implant almost a year ago and it stopped my periods completely but they came back after a couple of months but didnt worry as i knew this could happen. but for about 6-7 months now ive been getting my period and then after two-3 days off it comes again and im spotting constantly. Im now getting atleast 2 periods a moth now and cramping is the same every time. I havent gotten to the doc as i work five days a week and at first didnt want to go over nothing which is why i decided just to keep track of it but i worry now it has been so long. Its become so stressful that now i think my ibs has bome back as my stomach is in constant agony or having to go to the loo all the time. If anyone has any advice or has been through it id appreciate it Thanks guys, Mhairi

See a doctor

Hi there, you really need to go see your OB/GYN about this. I have IBS also, but have had a complete hysterectomy 6 years ago. You could be getting anemic and it's not normal to be doing that. If you have the implant, I thought you can't have the monthly anymore? Please go see your doctor to rule anything out and the implant may have to be removed. Best wishes to you and please keep me updated on your condition, Ginger.

Actually you can still get it it varies person to person though which is why I didn't think much at first when it came back but now too a month with spotting after the second and they are only days apart makes me worry I've never heard of it happening to anyone else with an implant or of there are irregularities I've read they would normally settle after around 3 months. It's been longer now and I struggle getting to the docs due to work commitments they rarely have appointments and when they do its never the same gp I go between all three who work in my practice so it's hard to get a straight answer.
