My nails are breaking...like I barely have any. I don't know why they're doing this...they're cutting right down to the cuticle almost. I'm insecure about this however; someone mentioned it may be vitamin deficiency.
What is the solution to brittle nails/what vitamins do I need to be taking?

I recommend seeing your doctor first, just to rule out any diseases or conditions that could be causing the brittle nails. On medicinenet.com it says: "Brittleness of the nails, meaning that the nails easily become cracked, chipped, split, or peeled, can be observed as a sign of aging or in response to the long-term use of nail polish or exposure to moist conditions " So that may be the culprit if it's not an underlying condition.
This site goes into some possible treatments. Such as vitamins, moisturizers, special nail polishes, etc. Worth a read. But I would really see your doctor first, or at least after you've tried a few treatments and find that nothing is working.

Like glumbumble said, I'd see your doctor if they're that bad. My nails have always been pretty weak, so I started taking a hair/skin/nail vitamin combo. I've noticed that my hair is coming in shinier and a bit stronger, and my nails don't split as much as they used to. I use Nature's Bounty gummy hair/skin/nail vitamins, and they don't have a fun after taste. But, like I said, if they're really, really bad, ask your doc!

Hi there. I agree that you should see a doctor. My nails got bad when my thyroid stopped working. They were always long and so white. They grew fast. My daughter told me to take pre-natal vitamins. I have been for a couple weeks and my nails are starting to grow. They actually look normal. I'm not an expert but that's my own experience. Check with your doctor to rule out any underlying health problems. I take Nature's Bounty Pre-natal vitamins once a day. Good luck. Ginger.

Did you try talking to your Pharmacist about it?They are just as good as Doctors and they know just about everything on Drugs and Vitamins.I saw a commercial on TV a little while ago and they were talking about ,thinning Hair and brittle Nails.Apparently these people were lacking a certain Vitamin in their system.I would see my Pharmacist if I were you ,plus they would suggest you see your Doctor if they deemed that you need to.Good luck on whatever you decide Stephie-md.
