I recently read the Wheat Belly book. It seemed a little "out there" and I thought some of it was good advice and other parts I found hard to believe. My husband and I did decide to do our best to cut out wheat and just eat alot more legumes, fruits and veggies. Oh kay, I was shocked the first thing I noticed was a clearer complexion. I once read that the best thing you can do for your skin is eat properly and now I am a believer. Not only does my complexion look better but even my overall skin looks better. So, I do believe staying away from wheat has made me healthier. How much of it was cutting wheat and how much was eat more fruits and veggies, not sure but we will continue.

The part of wheat we eat is the grain that is ground separated and processed into things like flour. I do not know what you were eating so...
1. white flour uses only part of the grain and is bleached Yuk!
2. whole wheat flour uses more of the grain but be sure to compare the calories on different whole wheat breads and the ingredients. Eek!
3. buying whole grain breads are more expensive but there are coupons and sales. Whole grains are what we want but we pay the $$. either way Thumbs up!
4. Veggie bread! 1/2 serving of veggies per 2 slices. It is surprisingly delicious. Smaller than the average loaf and much pricier at $3.25, I always seem to get my hands on a 1.50 off coupon and get it on sale so I end up paying less than the price of a normal loaf of bread.
Good deal, huh?
So don't go eating too much of any one thing because that is not good either but whole grain or veggie bread will serve you well in a healthy balanced diet.
P.S. Important to drink a lot of water with the extra fiber because it acts like a sponge going through your intestines, cleaning it out. That is why fiber is so good for you but you do not want that sponge getting stuck if you know what I mean. No one like a laxative. hehe
Have a healthy day!
