Back to work after maternity/parental leave

I was just curious as to what some of you did after your leave was over ? Did you go back to work or stayed home ?

I am due to go back to work in a few months and I am starting to have some anxiety attack . I am not looking foward it at all ! I still haven't found a day care , I'm not sure how I'm gonna manage it since I work full time and would work one day during the weekend every weekend unless I book it off.. I would work every Christmas and my husband works crazy hours so that means I would have to find a day care for the week and a babysitter for every weekend.. It's making me nervous .. At first I kept joking around with my husband that I would be a stay at home mommy but I'm starting to want it.. I have no family arround the area so if my husband works a night shift that is last minute and I do too or he works a weekend I need to find someone which might be hard for where I live .. And I don't wanna go
To work just to pay a day care and a baby sitter .. Idol gonna break even I might aswell just stay home .. ( my husband doesn't agree )

What do you guys think or would do ?

I would work either part-time or just not work at all. If your pay cheques gonna go to daycare & babysitters you might as well just stay home. Not worth it.

I totally agree with you, going back to work is so hard. I can remember when I went back, I sat down to figure out how much I actually was making after paying for childcare and factoring in child tax benefit, and other tax credits. I ended up finding out I was working for an extra $20 a day. It hardly seemed worth it. Unfortunately, back then, we needed the money - even if it was only $20!

I would prefer to be a stay at home mom but I didn't have enough money for that. I can't count only on my husband's job because it's not a fix salary. He's a matresses seller so the salary changes constantly. I had to go back to work. But at my job, when we get pregnant again, we cannot work and the insurance pay us a salary because it's too dangerous for pregnant women. I have the chance to be with my older son while I'm pregnant for my second baby :)
