Any suggestions for type of bathtub/bathing accessory I can use for our 6 month old? He is about 23 lbs and very long (and growing!) and is quickly outgrowing his 'whale of a tub' purchased from babiesrus.
I'm hesitant to put him in the regular tub w/o any sort of prop to keep him from banging his head/sliding around.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

You can buy a bath seat from most baby supply stores or Walmart, Amazon, etc. That's what I used on my babies when they outgrew their little tubs. I'm surprised you've made it to 6months without switching!
I didn't find the exact brand I used, but here's what I mean:
You will not be able to leave baby unattended of course, and until she/he can sit unassisted you might have to prop her/him up a little with your hand. Eventually though, baby will be able to sit without your help and will enjoy being in the big kid tub!
Many come with suction cups attached to the bottom so you can secure it on your tub. Mine did and it worked even with a textured bathtub floor (although smooth is best).

rubber mat in the bathroom bath tub, rectangle laundry basket placed on top of the rubber mat for grip, and one of those big sponge critters they sell at walmart or babies r us for comfort, and just fill your regular tub, and baby is secure and comfy.
