What is everyone doing for a bedtime schedule/routine for there children. Mine is 6 years old and in kindergarten. I tried to have him on a schedule. Some nights he's still awake 2 hrs after I put him to bed others he's out within 5 minutes

I've heard on tv and stuff you need to have a 'winding down' routine, but I have no experience myself, so can't speak for how effective it is! Sorry.

Ours is bath time, a snack and 20 minutes show, reading stories, tuck her in. My 7 year old is allowed to read in her bed then until around 8:30, then she needs to go to sleep. A winding down period is important and a consistent routine. Good luck!

For my daughter it was always a bath followed by a bedtime story but with small children things don't always go as planned ,most nights went well but the odd night here and there my daughter would still be awake two hours later

Snack, reading on the potty, wash up, tuck in, lights out, talk to stuffed animals in bed until she falls asleep.

I used to read to my kids the Sesame Street Books that I had purchased a kit I'd read one of them every night at bedtime I read them so much that my oldest son would just flop the pages and read what it said on them just by looking at the pictures at the time he couldn't read he was to young he had the books memorized due to me reading them so much
