I have two kids. A 20 year old and an 8 year old - so 12 years age difference for mine. It was like being in the home stretch then starting from scratch all over again. At first my oldest was jealous but now they are close and my youngest goes to my oldest for advice re: school, bullying, encouraging, etc. It's sweet to see them interact and be so close with such a big age difference.

I always wondered what it would have been like to have them close together. Ideally they'd be best friends and playmates but in reality there may be constant fighting lol

My sister was 9 years older. She was great to talk to and get advice from.

I only have one child myself but I'm 29 and I have a 10 year old sister and I love it. I feel like I'll be able to tell her about things that she wouldn't want to talk to our mother about, it's a really special bond.

Charbella & Laura that's really sweet! I'm glad my youngest has my oldest to talk to just because it's almost like having an extra mom to confide in.

Having them so close in age there are definitely some battles in the house, but also they are best friends and they love each other so much.
