OK yes of course we are not talking about a baby that is never acceptable however what about an older child say as you run into the gas station to pay for your gas? Or a convenience store for bread /milk? Is it ever Okay or acceptable to leave your child unattended in a vehicle? Is there a age requirement or time frame that makes it OK? I remember my mom leaving my siblings and I for a few minutes in a motor vehicle a time or two? Or does is it really have to do more with how much times have changed that this practice is now frowned upon? How's about the time when you were just running into grandma's to get the?? Haven't we all been guilty of it?

In my opinion ,it's never OK,I took my daughter everywhere, even just to run into the ATM,I felt safer having her with me.She is a teenager now,so its OK now for her to be left in my truck

I remember when I was younger my parents used to leave us in the car all time time when they needed to run a quick errand. Seems like times have changed since then. I wouldn't leave my son in the car ever even if I was just going to be a few minutes. You never know who's going to call CPS on you or if anyone will steal your car with your child in it. I don't ever risk it with him .

When I was younger both my parents left me in the car multiple times by myself for sometimes as long as 10 minutes.

I agree with everyone here. Times have changed from when it was ok to leave a kid for a minute to run into the store. You hear far too many stories these days of kidnappings, or carjackings gone wrong.

I agree with the other chicks, I don't think it's safe to do. I'd never take the chance.

I think it depends on age, how long you will be gone and if you feel comfortable. If you live in a small town and know practicially everyone and feel safe leaving your 7 and 10 yr old in the car while you run into pay for gas then absolutely.

Times have changed, I'd never leave a child in the car its just as easy to take them in with you and not be sorry for your actions.

I agree times have changed and the world we live in is just not a safe place anymore. My daughter is 11 and i still make her come in with me even if it is just to pay for gas. Too many crazies out there...
