We've all met her at least once in our life; that mommy that assumes her baby is the brightest most wonderful of all. Good, let her think that. Comments like "not walking yet really"? Mine walked long before now etc.etc. etc. Just tell her that you're not concerned because all babies develop at different stages and there's no hurry.

Unfortunately, those mothers keep it going at the elementary levels and through every stage of their child's life. I overhear moms while I'm on yard duty in the morning talking about how so and so's child still can't do this or that and they fail to understand that even though their child is bright or advanced, they may actually show the least amount of improvement in the classroom, whereas a child with special needs could show a tremendous amount of improvement in just a few months. However, the opposite could also be true, so we shouldn't judge, because we don't know the underlying circumstances as to why their child still hasn't reached certain milestones. So many factors weigh in that we have no knowledge of as outsiders looking in. The only performance they should compare to is their own child's previous achievements. Comparing your child to another is pointless. Just know the general developmental stages and speak to a teacher or pediatrician in regards to your concerns and stop analysing other people's children.

That's so crazy that some mothers are actually like that, like who are they to judge your baby's growth and development? I don't have a baby but when I eventually do in the future then I would not put up with that from other mothers mouths. I would say some choice words and move on. I've been in kind of similar situations but with myself and having people say oh you aren't doing this? or this? yeah I know what it is like and it's not polite to say the least.

my husband's grandma is like that ! the other baby has a month difference with my son and she's like oh she walk with a walker . she does this and that.. WELL I got annoyed and told her my son will do it when he's ready ! Every child goes to it's on paste ! it's not a race. she hasn't said anything else about that subject since then.
