Do you experience pangs of guilt or plain paranoia when you leave your baby with a sitter? This probably doesn't happen to you if you have chosen carefully, family member etc that you know baby is safe with

If you feel anxious you can always phone to check in.

It happens to me, simply because I feel bad when she's crying and I leave. I don't feel bad for her but for the sitter! I feel like she may drive them crazy! Haha. Nothing to do with not choosing someone I trust though.

I just don't trust anyone. I don't want to leave my daughter until she is much older. I only trust my aunt with her. My babies grandma wants to visit but she do eat watch the baby and thinks it's okay for her big dog to be around the baby and licking her hands and mouth. She sticks her fingers in my babies mouth which bugs me so much because of germs. I know I am paranoid but I just don't feel comfortable.

I was so scared to leave my daughter with anyone when she was little,I didn't trust anyone, she was probably six months old before I felt comfortable leaving her with anyone else

Paranoia is normal and in my opinion a good thing. Can't be too careful when it comes to your child especially if your sitter is someone you don't know well. Did you get their references? If so call the references if you haven't already. You can just call the sitter and check in/up. You can also ask them any questions you want answered. Does your sitter also babysit other children? If so you could also talk to the other parents. If you have any concerns take it up with the sitter and don't feel bad at all.

I don't have a baby, but I think this is common. I can't enjoy vacations for worrying about my cats, haha.

I used to leave my daughter with my mom and i was still worried. I think it is perfectly normal. Gee i still worry and my daughter is 11. My worries are not the same it is different things... I just feel better when my girl is with me...
