This is something we don't think about, but it is apparently a growing problem. Expecting mothers being diagnosed with cancer. How is treatment offered to the mother without affecting the baby? Here is an article from msnbc.com of a mother dealing with just this.

Obviously it depends on the women, but I would think you would want to fight that much harder because you're not only battling a disease for yourself. I can't imagine the grief families would feel if they lost a mother and a child at the same time.

My God that is just so utterly sad! I can't imagine the pain this couple is going through. Praying you give birth to a healthy baby in a safe time frame, that leaves you with enough time to fight for your life, literally. Just heartbreaking.

@Lauren, totally agree, I bet she'll fight even harder because she's fighting to survive for her baby as well as herself.

What a courageous woman!! She is pregnant, newly diagnosed and fighting cancer, but she's not sitting down feeling sorry for herself. She's done the treatment she can safely do for now, is doing what is best for her baby, trying to regain control of her life through exercise (Yoga), and ready to battle for her life once the baby is safely born.....honestly what an inspiration.
