I had to have an emergency c section when my daughter was born because she wouldn't fit. She is 14 months old now and my husband and I want to start trying again but my doctor said I had to wait 2 years to try again so my body can heal. I also had complications and had to have an emergency surgery a week after the c section because I had severe blood clots. My question is, has anyone else who had a c section and been told they had to wait that long to conceive again? And if you didnt wait that long did you have any problems with the pregnancy? Thanks!

Just my humble opinion, but it's always best to follow doctors advice. My BFF had 2 C sections within 18 months without issues, but she had no complications with the first and was not given that advice. Every situation is unique, and you wouldn't want to risk your healt...or your future baby's.

Yes I agree. I have talked to other moms that say their doctors never told them to wait and others they said to wait 18 months to a year. I plan to wait it out even though it will be hard. I don't want to risk anything. I only just finished nursing so maybe I will take some time to enjoy my freedom! Ha

Medical advice is best left to your physician. We could all probably advise, but not all of us are doctors

Thanks ladies. Just was curious as to what your doctor told you. I also heard that women who didn't have a c section should wait a bit so you give your body a rest and everything goes back to normal.
