I should definitely know better (given that I've been sexually active for a while and yes... I'm in my 20s.)
But accidents happen?
Well, maybe not "accidents," necessarily... but momentary lapses in judgement?
I'm not on the pill, and my bf&I did go with the withdrawal method a couple of times this month and last, and my period (which CONSISTENTLY arrives at the end of the month) was on time in Feb... but this month... nothing so far.
(It should have arrived on the 25th or 26th)
So, I just took a pregnancy test earlier this morning.
And it was NEGATIVE.
While I'm VERY relieved... I somehow feel like I'm not in the clear.
The reading came up negative right away.
But the instructions on the test (First Response pregnancy test) said that if your period doesn't show up within a week, to take the test again...
Sometimes the change between the shorter month of Feb does cause some irregularity for when my time of the month shows up in March... but this is pretty crazy.
So... I'm still freaked out.
(Pretty relieved that the first test was negative... but still.)
I've always been careful before, but with THIS legitimate scare.... I'm more tempted now than ever to visit the fam doc & go on the pill.

two words: lesson learned :-)
Go see your doc and talk about contraception...in the meantime talk to your b/f about using condoms...

To be honest, I think I'm pregnant every month and not because I'm trying to be. I'm usually on time right down to knowing the exact day it will start, but not this time. This time I was off by a week.
Every month I worry until I get it. Maybe you are just stressed or it's to do with the start of spring and your body is reacting to the changes. Give it another week and see what happens.
The pull out method is a great way to get pregnant, by the way!

Well. My period should have arrived around the 26th/27th (or MAYBE the 28th)
I took an early response test on Monday, but now I'm more or less a week late which just DOESNT happen.
At what point do I take another test?
I guess I won't be completely satisfied until a trip to my doctor
Until then, I'll be continuing my love affair with water and tea.
The injectable birth control is looking great right about now.
Hindsight's 20-20, right?

Good call on the doctor. It's true, you won't know before you go.
I hate the irregularity of periods. Sometimes I'm exactly every 30 days for 4 months or so and then all of a sudden I'm a week late for one month and am freaking out wondering what's going on. It is annoying.
Hindsights 20-20. . . at least you've learned from this experience. You definitely won't make the same mistake again. At least you shouldn't. . .
