What age did you start having kids at?
As many of you know I'm working very hard on my health problems right now to get ready to start a family, but sometimes worry about leaving it too late as I just turned 30. Money is also a factor as I want to wipe my debt before I start my family.
Do you think that's too ambitious and I'm leaving it too late?

I'd also love to adopt, but I know there are a lot of requirements.

My grandmother was born (in the 1920s) when her mother was 44 years old, and my grandmother went on to get her Master's degree (= turned out well). So I've always had this (unrealistic?) expectation that if I ever decide to have kids, I have till I'm 44 to figure it out. Clearly I have no inner ticking clock.

I think 30 is a great age to make babies.
People are much more mature and responsible at this stage in their lives.
I can't image having a baby in my early 20's. I was still a student.
If you try in your 30's and it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be.
But no sense in rushing things!

I was 29 when I had my daughter and know of people that were 39 and 40 just starting their family.I think every situation is different as far as if someone is ready,finances. Etc....I think you will make a wonderful mother

Well that's the opposite of me, mine is like a bomb, it's ticking so fast. I seriously am lucky I have no close friends having babies, I'm already totally desperate for one ^_^;

Awww thank you so much! I really hope so. I just need the knowledge. I have the maternal instinct down. I swear my cats think they are babies :)

Not to upset you or anything, I'm sure you have plenty of time...but I went through early onset menopause at 37/38 and never had the chance to have children. So just don't wait tooooooooo long.

^______________________^ too sweet! I hope so. I'm far from perfect, but I've always wanted kids for so long, so I hope I'm able to fulfil my dream and not make toooo many mistakes with them.
My mum had an awful temper. And while I adore her and it's not really her fault, I hope I can keep my cool with my kids when they are being bratty.
