I was on Perez Hilton, and finally got an internet-confirmed release date on Lion King in THREEEEE DEEEEEE in theatres!
I am a huge, ginormous, intense fan of Disney, and my all time favourite movie is the Lion King. It's one of those movies that I watch when sick, when I'm happy, when I'm tired, stressed, or feeling overwhelmed.
I'm sure all of you feel similarly! yes?
What was your favourite Disney pre-2000's movie?
I only say pre-2000's, because things they are coming out with lately are a little less than par, but that's just my opinion.
I'd love to hear all your Disney Favourites!

The music from Lion King was definitely a huge selling point for me! Great choice :) I'm kinda old school about my favourite Disney flick. I've loved Cinderella since forever, and even though it's so old, it's still my favourite. That's why I adore Annie Leibowitz's Dream Portraits series.
OH I AM ALL OVER THIS FORUM DISCUSSION! on Aug 19, 2011 @ 10:44 am
Ok. I will start by saying this: I FREAKING LOVE DISNEY lol Everyone who has ever met me knows how much I adore all things Disney. The movies, the store, the World, the Monopoly game I got for my 20th birthday, everything!
I have a couple favorites. I love so many but when I need some cheering up, I will almost always gravitate to Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, or The Little Mermaid. I can watch those over and over and over and over and... you get it.
But post-2000s, I LOVE Enchanted and Tangled. Enchanted was like a little bit of everything so when I couldn't decide which movie to watch, I'd do Enchanted haha
Disney movies are so good for a pick me-up on a bad day!
And side note - I watched Beastly last night. I was VERY skeptical and actually expected this movie to ruin Beauty and the Beast for me. But I was surprised, it wasn't too bad! I enjoyed it and so did my husband and brother-in-law. It's not Disney... but still Disney-esque so I recommend it :)
forgot about those! on Aug 19, 2011 @ 11:29 am
@Beachbabe, we own Enchanted and Tangled and I must agree - they live up to Disney's glory days. LOVE those 2 movies! My kids of course are all over Cars and Toy Story, but for me it has to be a fairy tale or it just isn't right :) I'm sure that's such a patriarchal sentiment (man charging to the rescue of a helpless female), but whatever!
Agreed! on Aug 19, 2011 @ 11:33 am
@mamaluv - totally agree! I love Toy Story, Peter Pan, Up, Finding Nemo, and things like that. But my favorites will always be the fairy tales. They just make me so happy :)
I <3 Disney on Aug 19, 2011 @ 11:48 am
I don't talk about it often but I'm a big Disney fan. I still go to the Disney store when I go to the mall.
Anyways, I love love love the Beauty and the beast, Lion King, the Lion King 2, Mulan, Finding Nemo, Cars, Enchanted, and of course Tangled.
I have Disney songs on my ipod and I plan to download the Mulan song "I'll make a man out of you" so I can listen to it when I attempt to jog or when doing something active!
They did it right with Tangled on Aug 19, 2011 @ 12:18 pm
I fell in love with Zachary Levi affter that movie. <3
LOL @ Tammy, I do the same thing too! I make the actions during the line "Lets get down to business, to defeat *bam bam* the huns HUWA" :P
I just saw Beastly a few weeks ago! I agree, it's obviously not as great as the Disney original, but it was worth watching.
I think if it wasn't for Simba, I would love Beauty & the Beast too. Or Mulan! I swear I don't have a weird animal fetish or anything, but Simba's voice is just so sexy...:P
My boyfriend bought me the giant Simba doll they have at the Disney Store a few days ago, and I haven't been seen anywhere in my house without him! I'm so glad they brought him out for a couple of weeks (him, as in Simba).
Disney Princesses! on Aug 19, 2011 @ 01:07 pm
Oh the magic of Disney. I loved Disney Princess when I was little...I owned every movie and every Barbie doll. So many childhood memories revolve around Disney LOL :)
The Litte Mermaid! on Aug 21, 2011 @ 12:00 pm
The Little Mermaid is my absolute favorite. I can't even count how many times I've watched it. My poor mother had to hear the same songs over and over when I was a child. lol. I thought Eric was so handsome. Close second is definitely Beauty and the Beast. I also loved Tangled. A Disney movie I did not really like growing up is Aladdin. I wanted to like it but never could get into it.
Sleeping Beauty on Aug 22, 2011 @ 12:32 am
When I was a kid I loved so many of them.. Lion King, Aladdin, any of the princess ones (snow white, cinderella, Pocahontas etc) Sleeping Beauty has to be my favourite one now though... its one I'll never get tired of. The whole storyline of being asleep for so long, not feeling or living, just practically dead to the world more or less, and then she's saved with just one kiss, and her whole world opens up again and she's able to live, love, feel, everything again.
I dunno, maybe its the cheesy, hopeless romantic part of me that I try to keep secret, but that has to be my favourite "ever after" story. :-)
All of them were great! on Aug 23, 2011 @ 12:19 pm
This makes me really want to start another Disney Marathon, and just watch all of them in chronological order <3
