When it comes to movies do any of you like period pieces like movies set in the 1700, 1800's,or the Civil War?

I rarely watch movies, so I am not going to be too useful here. Generally though, I don't watch too many period pieces. Though I like reading books about certain periods.

Yes I do, DG. There's some good ones on Netflix but I can't think of any titles off the top of my head. I like period pieces in general. I really enjoyed the Pride & Prejudice remake from a few years ago with Keira Knightley. Also good are The Other Boleyn Girl, Young Victoria, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and Elizabeth. I didn't see the third movie in that trilogy. (loved Cate Blanchett in these films!!!), The Duchess and one of my favs, Shakespeare in Love (Joseph Fiennes yummy!!!). Cold Mountain and Gangs of New York were good. And of course Dances With Wolves. Which ones do you enjoy?

Occasionally, but I'm not a huge history fan. If I watch a historical movie it tends to be WWI or II.
I do like period romances on occasion, for example Victorian.

I've actually been really into these types of movies lately. I've watched Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice and Gone With the Wind this month. Shakespeare is another favorite but I prefer the original movies rather than the more modern remakes.

I always liked older movies like Gone With The Wind

My favourite book series of all time is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, and it's set during the Jacobite uprising in 1740's. The TV show is pretty fantastic too!
