I am a serious movie buff, and I am a firm believer in leaving classic movies alone. It seems to me that original ideas are hard to come by, and that Hollywood is now trying to re-do movies that are just fine the way they are. Most recently I was reading an article about a re make of Sister Act. I love Whoopi Goldberg in those movies...what are your opinions on the matter??

I agree with you pinkerbell13 the remakes are never as good or done as well as the older movies, They should just leave classics as classics. Have a nice day !!!

I wish they'd leave movies (and music too) alone. That said...the remakes of The Departed and Oceans Eleven were pretty darned good.

I agree with you pinkerbell13 100 % ! To me, original movies and music are pieces of art, remakes aren't .

I fall in love with a move because of the story, and the actors... I love Sister Act and love Whoopi in it I do not want to see the same story with new people... same for Dirty Dancing... Dirty Dancing is just not right without Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey... new people just ruins it for me... like seriously how many times do we need to re-make Spiderman... and its always the same story... have the movie makers really lost all creativity? No more re-make please!

I am just as passionate. hearing that they want to re-do She's All That really did it for me too. What happened to originality being a skill...sheesh!!

Some classic movies stand out as legends and shouldn't be touched. It just feels like they would be automatically setting themselves up for failure. The chemistry some actors had along with the original storyline, make the classics special. How do you recreate that without altering some of the magic? Could you imagine a remake of The Godfather trilogy or The Goonies? No...just no!
