The Fault In Our Stars

As a 2x young adult cancer survivor, I absolutely LOVE this movie. I had a pretty rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at 20 and relapsed shortly after finishing treatment again at 22. It's a great book and the movie is just as great. Many people think that it's just your typical cancer movie but it's really more about forgetting about cancer and living a normal life. Even 4 years cancer free I still feel like I am living a life of cancer sometimes with how much I missed out on.

This movie is pretty much amazing to say the least. I read the boom and then went to the theatres to see it. I give it 9 out of 10.
Make sure to read the book first and take lots
Of tissue.

Disappointing on Jun 13, 2014 @ 02:06 am

The book was so so. Poorly written and very predictable, want enough to keep me on the edge on my seat but it was a quick and easy read with a sappy but touching story. Read the book less then a week before seeing the movie which was a terrible mistake. The movie did good service to the book and not many key facts were changed however some interesting plotlines were left out of the movie. Because I had just finished reading the book it was all to fresh in my mind which made the movie a bore. Glad I saw it but I won't be rushing to buy the DVD when it's released.

Touching on Jun 13, 2014 @ 07:24 pm

If you have been touched by cancer in any way shape or form, this is a must see. Make sure to take a box of kleenex along or at least one extra large hankie.

For those who haven't had cancer touch their lives they may not find it as riveting or touching. You have to experience it to understand.

Loved it on Jun 19, 2014 @ 08:53 pm

I absolutely loved this movie, my daughter read the book and then went to see the movie and urged me to go. I must say it is a tear jerker, I cannot imagine having a child with cancer, so heartbreaking. Some very good life advice in this movie as well. I highly recommend it.
