I just read that. Let's hope it gets settled.
Honestly, my post person is the laziest in Canada....NEVER even attempts to deliver packages that don't fit into the box, just leaves a card so I have to pick up the next day. Then doesn't deliver to post office in timely manner, so I have to keep going back. Lady at the Post Office said many people from the area have made the same complaint. So, I called head office. Of course delivery person says he tries, but my ring code rings on my cell, which is always on me, so I am sure he doesn't try. And even if I missed it would show up as a missed call from the lobby. No big deal for me, but there are several elderly/ handicapped. People in my building.

@wendyroy : I can totally relate!! I live in a building with a buzzer and the mail carrier doesn't even bother to use it (if the stairs bother him that much, he could buzz) What's worse is that I have opened tickets (complaints) on Canada Post's website, I was polite and simply explained the problems. They closed all tickets automatically with no resolution. I saw this, called in and they took my complaint. The ticket was closed, no resolution. I used @canadaposthelps on twitter...and they BLOCKED me!!! My word, I was polite and simply explaining the problem. Very disappointing.
Lest we forget:
A labour disruption in 2011 lasted nearly three weeks before the Conservative government passed back-to-work legislation which the Supreme Court of Ontario later found to be unjust.

As someone who shops online nonstop this would suck so much. I hope it can be resolved.
|Mine is lazy too on Jun 23, 2016 @ 11:18 am|
He or she does the same thing to me too. They never attempt to deliver just leave a card and that's it. Sometimes I wonder if they don't even bother carrying it they jus drop it off for pick up only, I can understand if it didn't fit in my mailbox but I have gone to the post office and picked up a small package that they could have put it in there.
|No no no no Noooooooooooooooo! !! on Jun 23, 2016 @ 11:21 am|
Say it isn't so! I order way too many things online.
Seriously though, perhaps I'm completely ignorant about the strike conditions but why do they strike or threaten to strike ALL THE TIME? What exactly is the problem every time and why is it never resolved? Is anyone here a postal worker? I know previously it was wages and benefits but what keeps happening in that orcganization to make them do this again and again? Especially when they use the innocent public to their advantage (Christmastime strikes). That's just so unfair to the public.
My postal worker is lovely. She has a wonderful personality, always asks about my kids and knows them and my dog by name. I always make sure Ms. Barky Pants (my dog) is in the backyard or inside when she comes to show her respect. I think they have to put up with a lot of crap from people and dogs but they chose the job knowing it's one that keeps them active and working with the public. It seems they have good hours. I don't know...

Our Prime Minister should stop doing his hair, and sort this out. We aren't supposed to be a third world country..
Canada Post is still a crown corporation (as far as I know)
[DEFINITION of 'Crown Corporation' Any corporation that is established and regulated by a country's state or government. This is the opposite of private companies, which are privately owned, structured and operated to serve the owners of the company. A crown company is commercially owned by the government.]
The government takes my money, and I would like my mail delivered.
& yes, @fly_eyez ..I was honestly shocked that they had banned me on their "CanadaPostHelps" <-(IRONIC) Twitter account. I was not rude at all!

I am really hoping there's no strike/lock out... My husband is a small business owner and our clients pay via cheque. If there's no mail, we can't receive our payments. I also operate an Etsy shop and rely on Canada Post to ship my orders! Plus I do a lot of online shopping. Really upset about this!

I heard that there will be a strike on a Canadian Talk Show, which I watch almost everyday. I really hope it doesn't happen, it will suck big time! :(
