Earthquake in my neck of the woods

My nerves are shot,we had a Earthquake here North East of Newfoundland (where I live)about 750 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean.and when they said it on our Weather channel and said it measured 7.1 I nearly lost it.I was worried about a Suanomi,I know I didn't spell that right but,I hope you know what I mean.My Mom ,God Bless Her ,when she was alive told us about a Suanomi we had back in 1929.I believe there were 6 people who died at that time.Newfoundland is only a small Island but,to me it is about the most beautiful place in the world. We have breath taking sceneries and lots of wild life here.Just a ten minute drive and I can go out Whale watching in the summer, and we are well known for our Hospitality.I wouldn't want for anything to happen to our Beautiful Province.

I'm surprised they haven't mentioned anything on the radio or news! I'm glad you're okay and that it didn't cause any damage.

Earthquake scare on Feb 19, 2015 @ 10:24 am

Hi Prettyrainbow,I am fine but,the thought of an earth quake scares the hell out of me.According to the news it was about 750 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean. That is quite a distance fromNewfoundland .Even still it scared me and the crazy thing about it is thst, the Meteoeoligist who was reading the forecast ,never mentioned it again. This is just crazy, you would have think that he would have done a follow up or something, but nothing not a word.

Hi Griechux,How are you?I was just telling one of the other Chicks that,I never heard a single word about it after on the news.Even though it measured7.1on the scale. It was a good thing that it was so far out into the Atlantic Ocean ,otherwise it would have been disasterous.I can't figure out why the newsmedia didn't do a follow up on this.Guess they figured no threat to the people living here because it was so far out in the ocean. This is really crazy,I wish they would have checked it out further,oh well.
