Going cruelty free

on Jan 31, 2014 @ 08:11 am

Lately I've been switching to brands that are cruelty free because of all the horrendous news and images I've been seeing on the internet. I've researched a lot of brands and the sad thing is the top brands are the ones that aren't cruelty free. For example covergirl, maybelline and garnier. I'm trying to join the fight against testing on animals. Please help by researching what brands are cruelty free and email the brands that are for testing animals and let them know you want them to stop. Also feel free to google some of the tragic stories and events that animals are going through every day. Being tortured, having things forced into their eyes and mouth having fur ripped from them. Please make it stop.

L'oreal is bad. All of their companies test on animals unapologetically. So that means L'oreal, Vichy, Biotherm, Lancome, Ombrelle... etc

I was told that China demands companies test on animals if they want to sell their products there, so even some companies who used to NOT test on animals now do to access their huge marketplace.

I hear you, I don't believe in using animals to test products. Maybe if thins were tested on humans they'd find a better way of testing products. I for one will stop using these products.

Good for you girl. Start posting this on Facebook and watch the results! You will get quite a following believe me, especially if you know how to post some of those articles on Facebook. Go for it

I totally agree with you, and I'm trying to do the same. It is unfortunately really hard to find not only cosmetics that are cruelty free, but also other household products - laundry detergent, soap, cleaning supplies etc. I cannot believe that so many companies test on animals! Vote with your dollars!!

Animal Testing and Products on Apr 15, 2015 @ 08:31 pm

I am an animal lover and there is nothing in this world that makes me so mad is,finding outabout animal cruelty. It was only last year I had two Dogs taken from this man I know quite well because,he wasn't providing them with the necessities of life.He fed them when he wanted to,they hardly ever had fresh water and were living in a very small pen.I told on him and had them taken away.I don't care who it is,if I see an animal being mistreated,I will tell on that person and take pictures if I can.Animals were not put on this earth to be experimented on and tortured.I keep my eyes opened when I go any where and,if something don't look right, then it's not.I'll speak up.I have two Beautiful Cats that mean the world to me.

The only way... on Apr 15, 2015 @ 09:14 pm

The only was really is to vote with our dollars as mentioned above. I find I'm doing it more and more. I buy better (aka safer and biodegradable) products for my family and I. That means cruelty free too. I think we shoulder the weight of the responsibility of what we buy. It's not cheap or easy - but since when is the 'easy way' the 'right way'?

I hate animal testing, I always try to look for cruelty free products, I think NYX is cruelty free, but it's terrible because it's so hard, so many companies do it. It's disgusting.

I switched to cruelty free products awhile ago and definitely feel great about it. :) A lot of people tend to think doing so would make shopping for certain products difficult but there are actually such a wide range of brands that are cruelty free. Urban Decay is my favourite for makeup, Mitchum for deodorant, John Freida for shampoo/conditioner.

I know quite a few cruelty free makeup brands are on the expensive side, but Hard Candy (sold at Walmart) has some pretty good products. As well as Revlon and Physicians Formula.

I seen some of the Peta videos and they made me cry the way the poor animals are treated in the labs is horrific. But I was appalled by the way the Lab technicians also treated the animals I could not watch the whole video I was so upset. They were caught by hidden cameras. I just could not believe what I was seeing there was a women technician horribly treating the animals. They should all be charged and I hope loose there jobs. These poor animals are a part of this world we all share and have the right to be treated with dignity, respect and have lives where they are not being used for such barbaric practices. Your right something needs to be done.

revlon tests on animals on Apr 27, 2015 @ 07:56 am

Just letting you know that a quick Google search revealed that Revlon does test on animals as they ship to China where it's required they test on animals. Last I heard in late 2014 they pulled out because of financial reasons (note that they didn't pull out because of choice), and it's still unclear if they actually plan to go back to not testing on animals. I got this info from Peta.
